i completely agree wtih hexthat m8.. very rarely is ph an issue in soil grows as the soil itself acts as a buffer for the ph, meaning that unless you got some really whacked out soil, ph shouldn't really be an issue in a soil grow, and i've never personally seen anything i'd consider to be really whacked out soil to the extent that it'd have an impact on the ph..before you start messing with the pH you should wait till you know that's your problem
plants can go from looking not good to dead really fast
pH tested 8.2 !!! I was right im sure at least I hope ill kno tomorrow morning but I have pH down can I mix with my tap water to get 5.3 pH?before you start messing with the pH you should wait till you know that's your problem

Thanks guy ya using coco where can I get already balanced water and how do I check roots without harming thempH 5.3, So your growing in CoCo Coir.
You made sure to rinse your growing medium really good before you used it?
Your pretty much growing hydro, the growing medium is inert, just a place for the roots to grow.
If your going to continue using CoCo I would invest in a RO/DI system.
If you switched to soil you'd have less pH problems. as mentioned the soil buffers the pH.
Easier to fix the pH with some lime if you run into pH problems.
Good Luck on Your Grow
How did you test your pH? I seriously doubt the mediums pH is 8.2. The plant in the pictures is far too healthy. What I see from the limited pictures is a plant on the verge of Nitrogen toxicity.pH tested 8.2 !!! i tried looking at the pix, but it's blown up way big and it's kind of hard to make much of anything out.. could you possibly take a new pix of the plant, but one that's a bit smaller in size, maybe one or two of the entire plant, and one or two of the area that you're wondering about, the trouble area.. thanks..
What could it beGive the new growth time to get going. That growth isn't twisted because of pH. My tap is 7.8 and grows fine. A mediums pH is what matters. And the plants in the pics are far too healthy looking. Your mediums pH seems to be just fine.
A im changing my lights to hps as soon as they show up but I do need another fan thoI'm not sure, but could it be lack of light? I know that some strains I grow do better under a 400Watt and some do better under 1000Watt. I am not familiar with CFL growing as I have only used the big CFL's for germination, but I would recommend using more lights or moving the lights closer to the plant. Hope this helps. Good Luck Dude
