so if you ever pay attention when you add ph up to a full res of nutes when it contacts the water like a white cloud forms where contact is. no what is happening there??? don't look to good to me, a friend said something about ions or some shit, and that its locking up nutes. and cutting edge nutes says in never recommends adding ph up to a res of nutes.. imo that is dumb as fuck, it says as long as your between 4.5 and 6.5 not to add anything. well I gave it a try and WRONG ANSWER. plants clearly showed signs of defficencys and fast. so I brought my reses to 5.7-5.9 and damn couple days and much improvement in overall appearance.. so im wanting to hear how other people add ph up to their res. I have started to eye ball ph up in before I add any nutes and have been pretty close to 5.8 every time 6.1 being the higest.. does anyone know of this white cloud that I speak of and what is actually happening? thx guys

You can add a predetermined amount into the res prior to adding nutrients, if you're terribly worried. I've seen the cloud too just doesn't phase me

I have run multiple 50 gal res for years with very successful grows and i have always just added as needed. Ph control is the most crucial element of hydro. If low i add up, if high i add down, straight to res and mix with a cordless drill and a 5gal paint mixer attachment. Yes, i see a cloud but that has never even concerned me enough to think it causes a problem because i never have problems, i keep ph where iit needs to be.

Almost 98% of the time you will always need ph down, nute companys put ph buffers in then but only work 100% when
using full strength....

I use untreated water to raise my ph, i dont even buy up anymore

Usually a cloud means your nutrients are precipitating, usually this is caused by adding your a and b nutes without waiting 15 mins for proper mixing. What I would suggest is to add the ph up slowly and with a dropper. You don't want to add ph up fast because anything it touches (microbe wise) will die. If I ever need to add ph up I do it in tiny 1-3 ml drops around my Rez and wait 15 mins for it to fully mix in.

I am not liking cutting edge nutes. I always mix at full strength with feeding chart and it hits low 5 like even 4.9. Future harvest development jas been my fave and will.be switching back asap. Now im not saying i have any problems really i just want to be 100 percemt on being optimum
