I have given my boy raw meat frequently if it goes bad or something.

I'm thinking a pig foot would be even better with the bone and all.

He'll love it....just put him outside so he doesn't mess your house eh?

Don't cook it first? He's got the runs a bit because I've changed his food. We used to give the Shepherd tripe, now that stank. Think that was raw though? Shall I boil it to be on the safe side? (just like first baby syndrome!)

Hell, maybe it will give him the runs I can't say for sure.

I don't know his specific constitution but I do know dogs do not require their food to be cooked.

Usually every dog I've had was very pleased getting uncooked meat. Hell, I had an entire bucket full of fat and meat trimmings from a deer I processed a while back and I would just put a half a scoop or so over his food and he absolutely LOVED it.

You can cook it if you like. I wouldn't.

Here's a little tip from yer Uncle Erv.
Be very careful how much moose meat/scraps you feed a dog at once.

We're talking toxic doggy farts ! :lol:

For those interested, look up the "Barf" diet for dogs.
My son feeds his dogs like this & they are beautiful and healthy.

Thats awful. I'm very sorry. It's a tough time for the whole family I imagine. Take comfort in knowing you did your best. :)

what do you mean contributing factor?

like he got too many? My dog can devour a two foot rawhide bone in like two hours...that's why I went to the pigs ears. I didn't like the idea of him eating so much like that.

I give my boy pigs ears several times a week.

If they get too big a peice they swallow, the raw hide will not be digested. If the piece is sharp it can cut their insides all up. Raw hides are about the last thing you want your dog chewing on really. Although they do make bison hide, I think it's bison, those are supposed to be easier on the stomach. I give my dogs raw hides but they only get to chew on them until they start getting them broke down. My oldest pit before I knew the raw hides could cause problems used to try to swallow peices so big he would keep regurgitating it until it fit down his throat the right way.

image.jpg Busters raw hide replacement. I keep the raw hides on top the fridge, there more for at nite when they are restless and can be watched because the day is over and I'm relaxing.

i give thor stuffed cured cow hooves the smell made me fucking gag when i was driving to my home town , cause there was only me i didnt want him jumping into the front...

soi bought one to keep him occupied...

it worked, smell is HORRIFIC
