My neighbors have this same dog.. it howls/whines for hours on end.. so they decided to get another puppy to play with the dog.. now I have 2 dogs next door who can howl together when sirens go by..

the dog just wants to be let inside to be with the family or be entertained.. I am tempted to cut holes in my fence to allow them to play in my yard with my dogs.

I'm slowly being talked into getting another pet. I just take the loss of pets really hard. I was more busted up when my pets died than I was when my mom or brother died. My pets become like my children, and I'm just not sure I can deal with losing another one.
