H2O2 will bleach skin noticeably on contact at around 7%. Once you get over 20% it will burn you. Do yourself a favor and wear gloves while you handle it. It is awesome for the roots though. I liked to add the total amount of H2O2 to whatever I was adding back to the res that day to dilute it a bit before it went into the res to cut down on any hotspots before it mixes that could damage the roots.
Chlorox is pretty much just hypochlorite and a few surfactants. They're probably what you see leaving buildup.

Makes sense. Good call on the gloves, too. I like to dilute my H202 addbacks in with fresh water, as well. In fact, next run, for that very reason, I'm going to be installing a remote bucket to hold a pre-mixed batch of aerated nutrient solution, and set the control bucket for a timed drain - then a re-fill pulled from the remote res. This will prevent any shock to the roots. It's written down in my "things to do, or uh oh" section of my notes.

I used to keep a lot of notes but counting days between events was always a pain for me. I started using excel for all my records. This is a very basic example, but you can see how easy it is to count days since the rows are numbered. When I ran a perpetual setup it was even more useful because I had like 8 columns of dates and notes and knew at a glance how old every plant was. You can list the first date as when they broke soil, or cloned etc whatever you want the start date to be. I store it in the cloud so its available on my other devices as well. Just thought I'd throw that out there for ya! Nice thread BTW :)

Pulled out the pen and pad the other day to have a backup of my info. After the thread was deleted(but returned) lol... No more losing my head over dumb shit that is pointless to argue about. ;)

Good looking fish bone roots!

I have thought about using H2O2 in my aero setup but right now I have 2 10" airstones in the root chamber and they seem fine. Bright white minus all the stains from using floralicous plus. Lol that stuff reeks and turns the water black.

BTW - Great job on organization skills. I have a log book but you have a log wall, lol

I use OneNote for all my dates and such, it's a newer program in the Office system. It's really nice. It's like a real notebook you would write in, but it's for the computer. So you get all the extra goodies like easy organization and such.

I suppose the nice thing about using a computer is able to use the search/ find option. I have gone back and forth through my book to find where I cut Nitrogen what my ppm's were at week 1 and 2 etc. Just more convenient with the comp.

Very convenient, plus all my stuff is backed up on my Cloud and my external hard drive so I'm not losing a thing unless all three go out lol,

I've never liked Apple, just like I never liked iPhones. I'm a Windows and Microsoft and Android type of guy.

If you're using that many bottle why not just make your own nutes from salts?

LOL, I don't like cell phones

Something about people interrupting life with bad news or gossip, at their convenience, but apple has to get the credit to changing the whole game of the cell phone market....before them cell phones were getting smaller and smaller etc, now they are bigger and bigger, touch screen, finger print, NSA watching you through FaceTime

I have a cell phone off in the glove box for emergencies lol thats it.

Pinworm...you are so incredibly thorough and organized! I was wondering if I could send you my checkbook and about 4 months of receipts? ;)

Yeah I use to hook on my phone and couldn't go without, now I just use it for when I'm out of the house, I'll forget about it all the time. Check e-mails, look up stuff on the internet, listen to music, maybe a couple text. I use about 30 minutes a month :-P I still like to have a decent phone though

Sorry about the rambling PW :-)

I've acutally have been learning how to use excel these last past couple of months. Great program. I'm also compiling data (i.e. 2 ph/ppm readings a day) for the entire grow show, so I can show you guys some graphs and stuff when I'm done. Excel can definately help keep me organized. Thanks for sharing that, brother.

Nice thread BTW
Apparently, one guy doesn't seem to think so. Some butthole 3 starred me the other day. Meh. No bigs. I just do my best not to kill my plants. I'm no pro.

LOL i use a marble composition notebook...something about that pattern I need to see.
I have at least 13 of those filled my manic thoughts and observations about stuff. How do you spell OCD, again?

Thanks, ytind. I'm stoked with how they look and feel. Nice and strong. I'll post some more pics when they really start to take off. Yea, floralicious totally smells like hangover pee.

You should see my 7' vinyl collection. It's organized alphabetically, numerically, and by genre, AND mood.

I like that. Looks professional. Pirate Bay may have a copy I can snag. Good looking out.

Good question, sir. Gave me some research to do. Might PM you for some links to point me in the right direction. I lovelovelove DIY!

Sorry about the rambling PW
A-ramble on, and now's the time, the time is now
Sing my song, I'm goin' 'round the world

Purple Fire is throwing some big claws. She's the emo-kid in the bunch. Sensitive, and mis-understood.

Since I kinda started the topic I guess I'll throw in my story! I was a PC guy for 20ish years, owned a store, built hundreds. I was an IT manager at a place for a couple years after selling the business. I'd always hated Apple with a passion, I think its what PC guys are required to do :) I was also into Android, rooting my phones and loading custom rom's what more could a guy want. I mean my kids had all been using iPods for years and I was like whatever, just don't ask me crap about that terrible iTunes program!

Then it happened... my wife was in nursing school and they "recommended" an app for her that was only available on the iPad. I was appalled! How dare they! It was hard to push an Android tablet on her when they flat out didn't have what she needed so I reluctantly bought her an iPad. So this new iPad literally sat for months because she hardly used it. One day while it was glaring at me from the counter I said ok! I'll poke around you for a bit!

It was all downhill from there. It was quick, it had cool apps and games and the fuckin battery lasted forever! I was like hmmm. After a month or two that iPad was with me all the time if I was in the house! That eventually evolved into me owning an iPhone if for no other reason than battery life and stability. iPhone really can't be beat for battery life (with my usage anyway)

So on my last birthday I was telling my wife hey shouldn't a computer guy really know everything out there? I mean its all about making me more valuable right?! So she bought me the latest greatest retina macbook pro. Its been fun learning a new OS and I just love this thing all around. I've kinda let the kids take over my Windows machine upstairs.

I still don't care for iTunes, it was ungodly complicated for what it was back in the day and it isn't much better now lol. I don't necessarily like Apple as a company still, but I've had my issues with Microsoft as well. All in all, I would say Im converted; an Apple Fanboy if you will. They'll have my business for a little while. Anywho, thanks for letting me ramble on!

Oh, I usually hang out in the 600 thread and do grow some plants of my own ;)
