you know *most* but not all pot smokers are lazy no good losers, who think it is cool to smoke reefer.........................one time I I was had a neighbors house and saw this pot smoker and all he did was sit and watch t.v. the media tells me that reefer can make you go crazy I read stories about how bad weed is every once and while.....................................its ironic that the ignorance shown by posters about pitbulls on this thread is exactly why people think weed is evil to..............ignorance, ignorance, ignorance.

Cuteness overkill man ... That just settles it. Pits really are good dogs if taken care of correctly ... You can even see the docile look in their eyes..All of the pits I've encountered were exactly like these pits.. Although I still think it was a careless move on the mom's part in 'senior pit bull eaten by baby' to allow the baby to pull on the dog like that.... Not just cuz it is a pitbull though...

If I could give you more rep I would.(I have to spread it)
Yes, we all are misfits on here. I thought everyone out here was more open minded than this....it is shocking.
For the record, I owned a Beagle (joey) This dog was the biggest pain in the ass I have ever owned....with that said, I would not start a thread bashing the beloved Beagle, just as I don't condone a thread bashing Pitts..Just sayin'

How was it a pain? The howling? If so then I agree... But other than the howling, my beagle is the perfect pup... Just gotta scream 'SHUT YOUR FACE' and she gets the point...

who's down?

i AM a drug dealer, all day long. i sell drugs. i sit with buyers and make DEALS. plain and simple. i'm not trying to deny or sugarcoat it. i am what i am.

once again, denial. is it sooooo hard to say that the track record of pitbulls stands against them, regardless of what the media says? just because they've been bashed doesn't make the facts any less true.

I AM A POT SMOKING DRUG DEALER AND PROUD OF IT!!!!!!!!
Spare me. You're taking isolated issues and turning all pits into "Loaded weapons". It's not denial. I have a history with the breed. I have the experience to tell me that they're not what you say they are.

Statistics show they have a better tempermant than

Collies, Beagles, daschunds, and the same as the golden retriever. Yet they're more dangerous? Please.

Here's a link...check for yourself.

what's so misunderstood? they make great pets but can kill you. i get it. i'm not un-educated. if you read the thread you will see I LIVED WITH PITS. and people say i'm close minded.

That's the whole point. Anything can be dangerous if it's chain down, beaten, and forced to fight. Why is it careless? Thats what children do. Should the dog and child not be exposed to that style of behavior? I pull at moose daily so he get's used to being poked and prodded. Kids can ride a collie who's temperament is lower than an APBT, but they can't engage in the same behavior with a pitbull?

I think this is a good thread.. Nothin wrong with discussing... It's a good topic too because there are such mixed opinions and not really a conclusive answer..

yes, more dangerous. would you rather be bit by a daschund or a pitbull?

i never said loaded weapon, i never said they attack unprovoked, i never said they were mad killers. i said "dangerous".

If you lived with pits your view wouldn't be so short-sided. Most owners of pitbulls share the exact same view as I do. most dogs can kill you if given the right circumstances. People own mastiffs , American bulldogs who outweigh the average pit bull by 50-75lbs and and a lower tempermant, but that's okay right?

thank you. i was not trying to hate, just a little bored last night and figured i'd throw this out here. it started on another thread and i didn't want that thread to get jacked so i started this one. for the record, i pretty much hate all dogs after about 20 mins. :-P

Fdd I just thought you were more open minded and took care of the under dog, so to speak....I guess it is true, you learn something new every day....

Obviously a dachshund, but would you rather be bitten several times by a dachshund and never be bitten by a pitbull and just live with the fact that he may bite you? It's simple mathematics. Pitbulls were bred to be subservient to humans. PERIOD. You'll see pits bite people but I guarantee most of the bites are because some bonehead owner told him too or because he was put in a position to bite.

"A correct Pit Bull will never be aggressive with people. The Pit Bull has been bred for centuries to be a human-friendly dog.
It is not a guardian breed, and therefore should not display suspicion towards strangers or view them as potential threats. It is uncommon for a Pit Bull to be overly shy.
The Pit Bull is likely to meet all strangers with an open heart and a wagging tail. A normal Pit Bull looks upon all people as friends unless their actions prove otherwise.
Generally Pit Bulls are submissive with people and confident in their surroundings, making for a well-adjusted family dog. Since times past when the Pit Bull was used for hunting of large game and as a farm dog, it has been a cherished fixture of family life.
The Pit Bull has a special fondness for children and a pleased, relaxed look crosses its face when they approach. It can prove to be a safe, hardy friend that can keep up and put up with the active play life of kids. For a child, no better companion can be found."

Hell they were used as nanny dogs. People left them alone with the breed, and come home to a normal healthy child.

I said 'not just because it's a pitbull' .. IDK I guess I'm just a worrier when it comes to babies .. lol ... I recall reading a post on this thread where someone posted an article about a pit that was supposedly tested for behavior but it still attacked a police horse... The fact is, you never know if something can suddenly happen to upset the dog... Such as a loud unexpected noise.. and that is what could provoke an attack. It's just not worth the risk especially when it comes to your child..

You have to expose him to certain things. Just like with humans. I've you've never seen something or been around it...you become fear aggressive. Just like them. I agree...Pitbulls can be dangerous if mishandled. But if you show it love and allow it to experience different things and scenarios it's going to be a better pet because of it.
