For anyone who might be truly interested in the history of the American Pit Bull terrier and/or the American Stafforshire terrier, check out this website. It is a good comprehensive history. Of course, all on the list who abhor the breed for whatever reason, don't bother because you really aren't interested in the subject. Bad Rap : Bay Area Doglovers Responsible About Pit Bulls

wow, an educational post with an insult. makes me want to click it. lol :weed:

I am back in on this discussion. I have given so much of my life to do what is right with all animals, and the pitts need it more than the rest due to people not educating themselves where these dogs are concerned....I am ready, hit me with the best of your delusional misconceptions.

All dogs will bite. According to Janis Bradley, from the Animals & Society Insitute: "There are difficulties in defining what is meant by a pit bull, difficutlies in identifying individual members of the breed or group of breeds once defined, a lack of any scientifically credible evidence for any physiological traits making pit bulls more dangerous than other dogs and difficulty differentiating between genetic tendencies toward aggression and the kind of aggression elicited by careless and inhumane husbandry practices."

we used to have a corgie she went after cats too....its called a prey drive, that why dogs go after squriels, rats ect. but you can correct that no matter the breed. I t just depends on the owner....if he or she has any leadership abilities. Dogs are pack animals if there is no leadership they will do whatever they want

i can read all day long. still doesn't outweigh my life experiences. i have witnessed it first hand. isn't that the best knowledge?

In most cases I would agree with you. This one, no.
There is no evidence that any breed of dog is any worse than any other and many people take for truth a lot of incorrect information which is sent out every day. The thing I wanted most people to do was educate yourself before speaking on a subject you may know very little about. Then be rational, but that would be the responsible thing to do. I think maybe there isn't a lot of common sense and responsibility floating around today..

It's just the oh so common stereotype issue .. Saying Pit Bulls are all dangerous is like saying all black people are gangsters and all muslims are terrorists...

That's the point FDD. Those are isolated issues. You can't hold the entire breed to that standard based on one or two. Ban the deed not the breed.

I own 3 pit bulls, and i have a lot of fun conditioning them and taking them 2 shows... One of them is having pups on Oct 13. I'll be the first to say, that they are dangerous. It takes a responsible owner to take care of them and contain them so there are no dead dogs in the neighborhood.

However, most of the time they are loving sweet animals, and require a lot of human interaction, and socialization.

Also, how does the type of animal you choose to own, reflect a mans level of security. I believe those who talk shit about the breed are just misinformed by the media, and have no real experience with American pit bull terriers.

My dogs would do anything for me...

P.S. - I have owned a beagle also!

What a sad fall from grace. We once championed these dogs now we hit them with BSL and other meaningless stereotypes.

That's a major issue. They're so loyal they'll do anything to please you. Anything including fighting, attacking or dying if need be.

Hey Fdd I want to add that you are a very influential person out here. Everyone respects you and admires you as well. This is why I find it important not to let you ill regard this breed, people listen to you and take your word as Gods.

All these shit talkers are just afraid of pit bulls... I'll admit i was once frightened by pit bulls. But after i got a pup and raised it the way i wanted it to be... it changed my whole perspective.

Now, I will never own anything else but an American Pit bull Terrier!
They are great dogs, who love people.

The isolated incidents where a pit has attacked babies, woman, whatever... Ask your self who In there right mind would leave a tiny child alone with a dog period? Fucking retards... Also, look at the trash people who owned the dogs... do you think that they work with there dogs at all?

Now, I'm all fired up...I could sit here all day and, defend these innocent creatures from the stereotypical lashings, with credible information... but i have other things to do today other than educate ignorant people...
