Plant number question? How many plants would you have in a 3600 watt grow room ? 6 or 54 or more ?

Hey People ,

I would like to know what you guys would do, I'm in a debate with myself in regards to how many plants per light ? Or in the room in general. The room has 6 -600 cool tubed lights w dimmable ballasts. How many would you throw under a light ? Or would you stog the room as I'm getting about 37ish watts per square foot .
I currently have 36 Black Kush ( Not to be confused with Black Label kush)freshly transplanted clones and fed with minimal amounts of awesome juice .
Want to veg for at least 21-31 days . ( Minimum )
Starting out vegging with T5 4 4 foot lights . Slowly getting closer day by day. Will move to Led to finish vegging 900 watt led .
Have another 50 and change of Bug Bud and Master Kush Clones Almost Ready in a rapid rooter and will use if the right plan/ debate can be made in regards to numbers and clones for the room and lights ?

So... what say you ?

10 x 13 is the space

Really ? 500 ? I'm working on a perputal grow . Harvesting every 2-3 months .
Can't really do 500 , as I'm licensed for only 146 plants max . That includes cuttings or large plants.


Why 500 ? What size pots ? And why 500 lol ?

Sea of Green (SoG) will have the greatest return.

If you are limited in numbers then how ever many you feel is doable.

If you make one center row to walk down and fill the rest you could put in 100 with minimal vegetation time.

You could cut that in half and vegetate longer. Spread 25 on each side, three foot path to walk down the middle.

The way my lights are positioned...is a little closer to the walls so that I have a path in the middle for watering and working space .it will also have the least amount of light and over lap light . So this idea would work . Perhaps when I have a few more mothers on hand this could be very doable . I've got 10 1 month old critical Kush mothers . 1 Afghan Kush 1 month old mother . 1 Amnesia 1 month old mother . 7 Pink Kush 3 week old plants and 3 Pinapple express 3 week old moms . I'm germinating thus week as well . Hash Plant , Ed rosenthal super Bud and Skunk # 1 .
So in conclusion I believe I may do SOG◇ have to do my due diligence and research first ◇ I Have to wait till my arsenal of mothers could support that number of little guys . Atleast a month till I can get more cuttings from enough plants . But if this works ... I may just keep it going ( if successful ) as a perpetual SOG. Correct me if wrong but this will require constant germination and mass cuttings sessions . 3-5 raid rooters at a time . Every 2-3 months. I plant on only keeping the strongest mothers and the rest will be butchered for cuttings and or to be flowered .

What size final Pots for SOG ? 1 gallon 3? ?

Im doing 16 under each 1000w habitually and i changed for 49 under each 1000w. Result in quantity is better and best thing is i dont need veg room. I only keep a 4x8 grow tent with 20 mothers plants and a tall rack with t5 and dome and i start the clone direct in flo it finish at 18inch tall one bud. Doing big plants is pain in the ass for me i prefer more small plants.

If you split the room in four spaces with a three foot walking path in the middle then you'll have four 5' x 5' spaces, each space should be planted two weeks apart.

This way you can do a batch of each type and keep the lights at the proper height.

Mixing strains is a strain.

If you want a SoG then get some 2x4 wood and build four 5' x 5' frames and line them with pond liner, fill each and put a pump and sprayers inside. Get a top that is 5' x 5' and water proof.

Cut 2" holes and use 2" net cups with 25 evenly spaced in each section.

Stack the 2x4 or get 2x6 and stack those, or use 2x4 on stilts and secure the pond liner to the top rail.

I probably won't be able to do SOG anytime soon . I haven't done hydro . I Will be getting a small hydro setup in the future . Id like to learn hydro well before I jump in on such a big scale hydro operation .

So what would your thoughts on just soil for thus setup ?

Find a restaurant or bakery and ask for their 5 gallon buckets that they emptied, or buy some from the hydro shop.

Drill holes in the bottom, place newspaper in the bottom, then rocks, then good soil with one third perlite mixed in. You can add a little vermiculite for water retention.

You shouldn't need to add any nutrients for the first month or so.

@ttystikk knows a good bit about simple nutrient feeds.

Tupur is also a highly regarded soilless mix.
