Plants Growing incredibly slow- Help Please

Hey guys. I have 3 plants that have been in soil for about 2 weeks. I are using miracle grow 3 month slow release potting soil and have the seedlings under a 90w cfl and a 175w MH. The plants still only have the first pair of serrated leaves and a very small second pair coming in. Am i just being paranoid or is this incredibly slow growth. I will upload pictures tomorrow. Also there is very very slight leave discoloration in dark green/ brownish patches on the interior of some of the leaves.
I thought it might have been that the lights were too close to the plants, so I moved them back a bit and made sure that a light breeze was blowing over the cups. Temperatures 70-80 and humidity 55-65%:wall:

That slow-release potting soil is known to be too "hot" (too many nutrients) for seedlings. Be very aware of signs of overfert/nute burn ... cn

2 weeks and one set of real leaves?
Uhh. You might need to start over. Serious.

By 2 weeks the plant should be bigger than that, all mine were.

It really depends on the size of the pot that your plant is in. The bigger the pot the slower your plant is going to be growing, because it's filling that pot out with roots. The plant focus's on the roots before it focus's on the top part of the plant.

Thats why I don't start seedlings in 100% Fox Farms Ocean Forest anymore. Now I sprout in 100% pro mix and I transplant into 33/33/33 FFOF/Pro Mix/Perlite.

In MG soil you'd have to have a miracle (no pun intended) to not burn them some but your seedlings should be larger than just 2 sets of leaves, even in hot soil. I've never had less than 5-7 nodes after two weeks from seed. Are you including germ time or is 2 weeks sprout to now?

yeah def dont give nutes for a whiiiile. balance your water to 6.5 if not already and get your light closer if its more than 4'' away from the plant.

yeah the first two weeks are the slowest IMO
depending on how big of a cups he has them in heres some pics to give you a idea how fast they can grow by 3rd week there 55+ inches tall so thinking some how there stressed out in my books

i think it may be a combination of the lights being too close and the soil being too hot. Hopefully I can get them past this with careful monitoring to the point where they are more able to handle the enhanced nutrient load. May take a bit longer, but hey i am in it for the experience as a first timer.

mos def gotta be the heat because the plants can never get too much light try adding another fan

how much are you watering them?lay off the water a bit as it releases the nutes and will make a plant grow slower if you over water them. like the OP said if they are in a large container they might be focusing on root growth right now. give iut a bit of time and watch for the signs of nute burn as the MG soils tend to be hot but they arent too bad if you dont keep the medium too saturated wich releases even more nutes,

i am hopefully reducing both forms of "hot" by raising the lights, placing the fan into a better position, and minimizing watering, directly to the root stem. Ant thoughts to this plan? Checked the ph and it is 6.5.
