Playing with seeds

Hi all

Just playing around here. Finished my first crop, really happy with it. One of the plants (northern lights) went hermie on me. Took it off site to let it finish. Seem to have got all the nanners plucked and no new ones showed up. Got a bunch of seeds of it, so thought i would play with them. Threw 7 of them in a glass of water and 6 cracked. Put those in rooter plugs, under a 60w CFL desk lamp. 5 of them come up real nice. Will put them in 16oz cups to finish.

All I really want to do is see if these are female or not, once I know they will all get tossed out. My dilema is where do I put them? In my tent (600W hps) I have 4 autos growing on 12/12. Can I put the seedling in the tent and have reasonable results? Will it hurt the autos if i change the light cycle to 18/6? Autos are about half done. I really don't have anyplace else to put the seedlings. Which option is the best? (or neither)

Plant them all in a guerrilla setting. Then you don't have to worry about ruining your crop or taking up valuable space.

If you put the seedlings under 12/12 they will show sex sooner..
I doubt it. They will take 4-6 weeks from seed regardless of light schedule. It takes that long to sexually mature for photoperiod.

Might as well get those extra hours of light the first 3-4 weeks anyways.

There has been a few threads here and there over the years doing what you are.

Most will be female and around 30% chance of herming again.

Recent studies show that its not genetic but and enzyme or protein that causes one to herm out.

Run them. I spent years running bag and brick seeds.

I wouldn't recommend putting your autos on 12/12. Your yield will be affected. Go 18/6
I agree. I just ran some under 12/12 just for seeds. Two plants made two joints. Lol.

Same seeds I can run in 15 inch wide pots under 18/6 and they get 3 foot tall.

the autos have been on 12/12 from day 1
It really hurts the yield. If you have to drop the hours do it at the end.
