I'm a first time grower and I'm wondering if this is nute burn or if i have another problem... I'm using 10: 4: .5 of organic miracle grow potting soil: perlite: blood meal (every 20-30 soil parts i use a half cup of blood meal)
I transplanted into this mix recently because the previous container i was using was small and growth seemed to slow a bit. Please help as i would like to have a successful first grow ...
oh i also use miracle grow plant food 1 tbsp./ gallon and water with this roughly every 2 days.. please help a new grower

Sounds about right. Give it a month and then you should be looking at flowering size. With the 400 they will shoot up quick, so be sure you keep it low enough they won't stretch, but high enough you don't burn them.

its part of the first set of true leaves . i believe i read somewhere on here that eventually these leaves die and fall off but i cant remember for 100% sure?
overall the plant does look healthy so im not sure if its a problem?

also what would be a good length to keep the 400watter at? ive read anywhere from 5-18" but id just like to be sure so i dont kill my baby.
oh and thank you so much for helping me out. i understand that some people find it annoying to help us newcomers out because we ask ridiculous questions (many of which can be answered on another thread) but i really appreciate your input :)

i would not want to get any nearer than about 9 inches from a 400HPS, there is a chart somewhere on the net with the best distances from the bulb for growth, the bigger the bulb the bigger the range but.....a 600hps is effective further away than a 400 but you can go as near as 9 inches on a 400 but a 600mwould burn the plant so what you gain in range you loose because of burning if you know what i mean??
also you should not need to feed those tiny plants if they are in decent soil, MG can cause nute burn.

Thank you for the feedback. I will be sure to dump that useless liquid miracle grow out as soon as I'm home.
Do you have a link or should I just search on the web?
Is there a difference between high pressure sodium and a Super high pressure sodium bulb?

Damn my plants are dealing with a lot of problems and my first grow but damn you trip out a lot homie . Chill and just let it do its thing . To much attention can kill plants . I killed 3 of mine that way but the other 20 are looking pretty good . Just don't over byte or over water . Also nite burn might be bad on the leaves but you should worry more about that during flowering ... Give them time!
