TIP - As far as foliar spraying, if you're gonna use an old Windex bottle or something....make sure to rinse the living shit out of it first...and make sure to remember to run the sprayer handle many many times with plain water to get whatever is left in the tube and sprayer head cleaned out as well.

Its easy to get attached to these things, aye? Just fucking wait until your'e 4 months into it and have to chop her down for harvest...THATS when it can get real emotional.

Gosh man, you're in a bit of a tough spot. Usually the advice is to water until you start to see run-off (or a lot of runoff if you do the pour thru method) then let it go until its pretty dry(usually can tell by weight or moisture meter - that 2 knuckle deep crap is bunk), then lather-rinse-repeat.

Best thing you can do - IMO - is to give her a (literally) 1/4 cup of water every other day for a few cycles while she regains her footing. Pour the water in a circular fashion around the outer perimeter of where you THINK the roots are. This encourages the roots to seek the water and expand. A spritz of water (pH'ed with Si if you have it) on the leaves once or twice a day wont hurt her either. Don't go overboard with the spraying...just a spritz or 3.....

For those that use the knuckle method, no disrespect. My experience is in a 15 gallon pot, my second knuckle gets me 2 inches into about 24 inches of soil. So, my pot could be completely saturated at the bottom and bone dry on the top. You can see where this is problematic.
wish I could like your advice lol... I have been waterin in a circle around the perimeter every 36 hours but only about half a liter at a time. And she's actually starting to show signs of recovery. top new leaves are opening up. will check layet and post a updated pic. thanks again orbo

already have a thoroughly cleaned out one but thanks... can u recommend a good foliar spray for me??? I've got a technoflora start ki on the way enough for 4 plants veg to flower.. does it come with anything I can dilute into a foliar spray?? also getting my fox farm trio tomorrow.. and flower power from amsterdamn..do you know if any of these have something you can dilute them with to make a good foliar spray? ?? if not please recommend. thanks orbo

Just plain water. Or plain water with a little Si and pH'ed. I'm not a big fan of actually FEEDING thru foliar unless its to correct a major deficiency.

I had a couple more questions, I looked and didn't notice any mention;

What are your temps?
What is your light cycle?

I would recommend an 18/6 or a 20/4 cycle right now. Give it a little break from the light while it recovers. Also, a cold root zone (even mid 60's) will be prohibitive to optimal growth right now. Its just a baby and still wants to be kept warm. Mid to high 70's is a good place to be temp wise right now. Be mindful of the temps when lights are out too.

Almost forgot - DynaGrow's Protekt works like gol damn magic in veg. I don't normally recommend nutes, but I have to give some props to DG for their Protekt. I'm sure some will disagree, but in all my years of growing the only thing I have added to my repertoire is DG's Protekt for the Si. Aside from that, I use all the basic micros/macros.

Lastly, if you don't already have one - get a PPM meter. Very helpful piece of equipment.

EDIT: One caveat about using Si. Do some research with regard to mixing Si and Ca. They bind to each other and create this gel like substance. Its VERY important to add the Si to your water first, then take a small amount of fresh water and add the Ca to it. Then add the Ca water to the Si water. I believe this keeps things diluted enough so they don't bind together upon contact.

^^^ Sweet. Thats good news.

I wanted to add one more photo to your thread just for perspective. Those 5 sprouts I showed you previously are growing under 1 - 42W CFL and they are THRIVING. If you have much more than that on your plant at this stage you are wasting money and probably not doing it a lot of good. Just tossing that out there.

so frustrating... top leaves were starting to fan out and bottom leaves started to get their green back as well as the veins starting to turn green again also. was dumb happy, until I woke up.. back to square one now. top leaves actually closed back to where they were. can't win. still gonna wait some more and give minimAL water every 2 days and spray once or twice in between.

Pics would help again.... It only needs watering when the top few inches are dry. You can't really say every 2 days as it might still be wet. How much are you spraying? Maybe lay off the misting.

What the fuck you doing sleeping? You need to stay right there with that plant. LOL j/k

Seriously, tho...keep in mind those leaves will do........things. They perk up when water, they droop when watered. The serrated edges get all shark tooth looking with just the right amount of nutes, then the go limp. They roll they flatten...its just the life of a leaf I guess. Good that you're noticing though. They tell quite a story as you learn to read them.

I didn't water for 3 days misting twice a day 2 sprays at a time. the problem I have td, is that the soil under her that I brought over so I wouldn't hurt her (transplanted twice in 4 days) is probably still wet. when I transplanted her after 3 days it was still soggy and very compressed. made me feel helpless. anyway I lined the bottom w about 6 inches of fresh soil and put her in.then surrounded her w the new soil and dampened it with about half liter of water. this was after 2- 3 days w no watr. early this morning I thought she was taking a turn for the better(she was, but it was shortlived) bc the veins were gaining there green color back except for tips and even my bottom leaves were also turning green again. best signs were the top leaves fanning out (thought this was signs of regained health but then they closed again) but when i woke up n looked at her n she looked the same or worse even. fml I ll take a couple pics for u guys but she doesn't look much different.. heres one anyway

hey orbo.. should I throw on the 600w at 25% power or keep the little cfls on her. she basically stayed the same after waking up. trying to be positive and at least look at the bright side. at leaSt she's not worse. should I dilute a little ff big bloom and give it to her next feedi ng? ? or just stay w reg water every 2 days until she shows signs of improvement? and I cleaned my pot !!! lol

I meant that usually by day 2 without water I give her some.. I spray twice a day 2 to 3 times with day old tap water 6.3 -6.4

Hold off on the food until you get your pH meter and PPM meter. I would also hold off on that 600 too for now. Wait until you start seeing some improvement before you make any changes.

and after improvement..?? 600 at 25%? about 2 ft away from the actual body of the plant good? u tell me..I don't wanna bombard her w nutes too soon either. top leaves opening up and at staying open this time. in total she tool a loss of 2 full fan leaves and 2 single leaves (first 2 after cotyledons) in 4 days. I see pistils but I hope I didn't stress her into turning herme. jus glad to see improvent. will post new pics when I get back from court.

hey guys,

I'm new to growing but have read alot on it, and until yesterday was told by experienced growers that my plant looked super healthy.. The only thing that changed since then was the transplant of my plant from cup to 5g pot. (which went pretty smoothly so I don't understand) My first two leaves after the cotyledon s have begun to show legions as well as clawing downward, and one leaf in particular that I accidentally pierced w a toothpick (was recovering great until yesterday) is very stiff, has a black spot, and also yellowish brown legions as you can see in the picture.. Any help, advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. and a day later after several failed adjustments it's gotten worse.
Is that standing water on top of ur soil?! I would guess its drowning
