I call BS.. if the OP has plants growing illegally and the cops just came would you be posting on a forum? I would be tearing shit down as fast as I can.. Iunno, just sounds iffy to me.

PS: if they did in fact say "we smell weed" then they dont need a damn search warrant.. thats probable cause to search...Come on people.. damn.

Large box for your plant and buy some CFL's and stick her at a friend's basement you can trust, then buy some basil plants, rosemary, oregano etc... and throw them under the same light setup for if they should come back and it would explain your heat signature if you in fact have one ;)... helicopter etc... And empty the place of bowls, any pot etc...
If you still want to continue to grow then plan on moving out of an apartment complex and further out of town into a house with a trusted bro or buy a place and do a cab grow in your basement.

Maybe they are just hoping he comes here and gets all this advice about closing shop. Its cheaper for cops to scare growers into killing there plants than it is to bust them (that is if the crop is under a certain amount). Think about your options first - look out for anything strange but dont become paranoid; 1 plant wont get you put in jail.

only u can asses the risk. i had police asking me " can we come in and have a quiet word" never let em in if they dont have enough evidence to suspect u for commiting a crime no warrent will be issued! never let them in the door EVEN just bu polite and say sry im not allowing you in... u do have rights!

if someone narks on u or evidence is found eg:( high electric bill, large amounts of gardening equipment, or photos ) they are just cause for a search warrent/raid if you have a fuckin monsterous amount. tats only i there supicious of u in the first place bu only u cab asses the situation no1 else

chop it flush it down toilet or garburator in little pieces plant some tomatoes or anytype of seeds u can get so if they come again, thenu can sue them for unjust search and seizure and get cash from them. stop growing chrnic for couple months and really hide ur stash well and all ur paraphanilia is ok as long as u got a pack of lose tabaco aroud it it cant be used against you.

It's not quite that simple. Cops can't just go entering where they want and then covering it up by saying they smelled weed. If they enter and there is no grow then you own their ass. I question the story too but it shows for sure that growing in an apartment building is a huge risk. By the way, there have been numerous stories here of accidental busts where police just took the plants and said don't do it again. I don't think they are interested in busting small grows unless they can link it to selling. And if they had evidence on this guy for selling I don't think they'd be knocking on his door to tip him off. Add to that you can't just call the police and tell them to rush off to such and such address. They won't do anything on a tip until they have looked into it and verified it, certainly not an anonymous tip.

Smelling weed is probable cause for a house search. Which is fucked up because a cop could just make that up, but none the less it's law.

umm,yea they can.. and you my friend are living in a self made dream world lol.. hows the weather up there in the clouds? You need to get a clue before you get serverely dissapointed. same goes with driving a car.. if you get pulled and they smell weed they can search your shit. period. you need to read up on some law.. as do alot of people here.

Anyways i am on 12/12 and have about 2 weeks left till harvest .

the Lights for me are on at night time . at 12:00 am my HPS 600 W light turns on till 12:00 pm

You can bet i was scared shitless .. but I held it together and I know the Law some what ...

NO ONE except for my brother/sister Know that i am growing marijuana .

I've now moved the Plant along with the light to my Sisters place .

I just cant understand why .. do the cops have nothing better to do then to go after people growing what I call a herb ? That's Marijuana .

People drink .. and are killing there liver and braincells .. But that's legal .. Yet Marijuana which has not killed 1 person in the world .. It's illegal ? something is just not right .

What happened today caught me TOTALLY by surprise .. it was like men in black lol

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they said that. Actually that's typical of something a cop would say in that situation. Of course they didn't smell it. You're right, if he actually did, they would have come in anyway. They're trying to get him to admit guilt. They already have an idea that he's doing it. Obviously they're not positive. So, I don't get what is so iffy about this story. It happens to people every day. I've had simlar things happen to me..and even if it's a bs lie, it's still a very real scenario that can, and will happen again to many people. So, I think it's good for people to get various ideas on how to deal with it.
