ec have you looked into e$kos way of making female seeds? He is pretty secretive about his process, sounds interesting tho. he even encourages breeding with them.

Fe- fem'd are great cuz its as close to a clone as you can get in a seed.
Chefs pollination theroy: female day 24, have your pollen ready to go (this means starting a male 5-7 before her or using saved pollen, which I'll get into next) using your favorite small paint brush, paint the hairs of the female. Doesn't take much. I'd say half gram could easily create a thousand seeds. Within 6 weeks they should be ready to go. I always check from several different locations on the plant as in grabbing beans from uppers, lowers, try to get some from deep in the flowers, to get a good cross section before pulling her. Some people are looking for tiger stripes and I agree that its a good way to tell if you've hit the sweet spot for "doneness" but not the be all end all factor in a good and mature bean. in my experience, it is easiest to hang dry the whole thing for a week or so instead of going after em while the flowers are wet. Then use the credit card trick to separate bean from crushed flower (don't forget to make wax w the left overs) dry for another two weeks and check germ rates. Within two or so months you'll hit prime cracking time :)... Then give chef some ;)

My room has been crazy hot the last couple days. I may need to hook up that Ac unit.
either that or take the veg box i have out of the room, it seems to keep it pretty warm in there since the t5 is on 24hrs a day
I have been thinking about you during the heat too, sorry i haven't had a chance to make it down. Still need a hand putting the A/C in? If so let me know, maybe i can make it this weekend.

@ chef, I have a filter cleaning the air before entering the tent.. soo, noo mold, mildew, bugs (i hope).. regarding the CO2 thing, do you mean by implementing it, it will allow the plants to photosynthesize more adequately in accordance to the higher temps? Im worried about the res temps. Im pretty sure nothing good comes from >70deg.. especially mold.. yaa, I was thinking about those aquarium chillers.. I'll definitely look around for one. , but would it work if every bucket is its own reservoir? they're connected, but I dont have a pump constantly moving the water around.... pre-jungle era:

correct, i use and prefer the CS method. and believe me, i much prefer the selection of regulars as well, esp since I like to look for potential breeding boys. + i think the whole fem movement might do long term harm to the genetics and lead to bottlenecking. so it's a 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, type of thing.

baking up some firecrackers now ...... thanks for the idea mac!
MAN I LOVE THIS THREAD!

So much knowledge in here and yet I have sooo much to learn! ;)

Careful with those firecrackers, E.C. 1.5 g-2.0 grams per rectangular shaped graham cracker should be a good starting amount for most.
Individual tolerances will vary, of course. When prepared/ baked correctly...you are in for one hell of a ride! :)

Harry,

You have a few different options when it comes to higher temps with the reservoirs.
-Chiller (end all solutions but expensive/use a good amount of electricity/output heat)
-Beneficial Tea https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/361430-dwc-root-slime-cure-aka.html great cheap solution and super easy to use, would def recommend.
-Sterilization (frequent h2o2, dutch master zone, or similar cloramine (ewww) based products) can keep roots looking super white and clean looking but harsh products.

I've used several chillers and after having a second one die on me I'm really fed up with replacing these expensive but cheaply made units. The tea has some stellar results
and in addition to keeping roots healthy, you're also creating a symbiotic relationship where the roots will feed the beneficials and the beneficials will put off an enzyme. These
enzymes will help to break down food for the plants even faster helping to enhance that hydro speed even more. The thread I linked is pretty long but just crammed packed with
useful information for hydro peoples :)

I honestly don't remember. I did a ton of research on the subject last year before deciding to make my first (and so far only) batch of fems and after research and reasoning came to my conclusions/thoughts on the subject.

ec have you looked into e$kos way of making female seeds? He is pretty secretive about his process, sounds interesting tho. he even encourages breeding with them.

Mac - I only used .6g to start. definately not enough for me (trying to get the wife to try the other for a more accurate guage). I'll have to try 1.5g tomorrow ;)

2 DP .... 1 female ... so that means not the fems.

so ... Durban is probably Durban x Herijuana (never did DP x CK. only DP x H and DP fems). Afgooey however, could be crossed with either CK or H.

BAndy, please help clarify :)

EC and Mac - what are you putting in the firecrackers, bud or hash. If hash, dry ice or ice water extraction?

Anybody have any plans for the rainy weekend?

I really only got one review (other than the ones at the bbq) on the Cookies, and with you guys taking about the edibles it has me curious, i know several of you left with cookies, have you eaten them? How did you like them? Potency?

Going to try my luck with some Tahoe pollen I got from EC today. See if I get some hits since he said it may not be a good batch but worth a shot! If I get a male from the Star Killer OG then that will cross with the Korean IBL also. Should make for a killer 3 way!

TruenoAE86coupe-

I never got around to trying the cookies, but they looked awesome! :) I was the DD (designated driver) so I had to behave ($%!?%) Next time I will bring some more of my Incredible Medibles and I will make them quite strong.
We are trying to introduce EC to Firecrackers...I think he's gonna like em! I will post up my recipe (If I didn't already, I might have).

MedShed- You can use either but I prefer kief as it doesn't taste as...herby. ;) Can't wait to get some tincture going, maybe this weekend. I predict another bout of dry ice 'winter' is about to descend on MacGuyvers lair...

EC - that's good to hear. I know you have a high tolerance for edibles so I would not have been surprised, but would have been impressed,if you were talking about hash.:blsmoke:

Trueno - I definitely like the taste and buzz of the cookies. The dose is nice for a mellow effect. 2-3 cookies would be needed for a good buzz for me.

Thanks for the feedback guys!
Indi- I know i owe you some, just gotta get some more keif. I think i might want to try my hand at making some bho this round (possibly even wax?) but i have no equip nor money, so maybe you can help me out?
Mac- Should have taken some for the road, most everyone did
Med- I made them small just to be sure no one over did it, when my wife made them they were right about 3x as big..... After i ate 2 the first night, i decided smaller would probably be better.

Mac - I agree with you on the taste of hash vs bud for medibles. I was thinking about chopping the Shooting Star tomorrow night but I think she needs a few more days. I might turn almost all of her into hash. I'm thinking of trying dry ice through the 73 micron bag for tincture.
