Potassium Issues

I am 5 weeks into flower with my ladies (white russian) and they are showing increasing signs of potassium deficiencies. i grow them in 5 gallon coco pots and feed them about 1/3 a gallon everyday with little run off that quickly sucks back up. i currently use gh flora series micro and bloom currently running at at 10ml (m) and 22ml (b) per gallon. in addition i use gh organic calmag with almost every feeding at about 1 1/2 tsp ger gallon. pH to about 5.8 running on ro water. my ppms usually come out to about 1100 after pHing. water temp is usually low 70s and room stays at a constant 50% humidity. room temps are always between 80 and 85 going down to 70s with the lights off.

so what can i be doing wrong? they are showing signs very quick and i feel they have not gotten to where they should at 5 weeks. but i am feeding them it seems a lot but it doesn't seem like enought. i have a bottle of ej meta-k that i could use but should i just add an addition or increase my bloom nute?

this is what most of the leaves are now starting to look like. some have lots of tiny yellow dots on the lower leaves that you cant get from the pictures.


this is on my smallest plant that has the worst of them all.


you can start to see the immediate leaves around the buds starting to get affected.


i believe this is a nitrogen def but i again wouldnt know why as it appears it gets enough nitrogen




please let me know what you think and if you think my process is incorrect. its a little frusterating and i would hate to lose these pretty ladies. they seem to eat a lot for their strain.
 
First when you take pics turn off the HPS so you can see the colors better. To me it looks like cal/mag def. for sure advanced magnesium def. Pic # 4 is the one that maks me think that. I would try more cal/mag or flush them it could be lockout. but your using general organic cal/mag and its kind of weak. also do you shake the bottle to mix it befor every use ?
 
Since I grow in soil and wasn't familiar with what you are using I would say you need to add something with more potassium you are running a low ratio for that. Never have grown in coco so I know nothing about that medium, but get something higher, on a tight budget use a couple of tablespoons of wood ash in your next watering, potash is also great garden center will have that in small quanties available. my apologies for the hps lighting. i took it first thing this morning when the lights went on but i will try and take more tonight when the lights go off.

instead of wood ash do you think i should just use earth juice meta-k? i have it on hand. it tells me that 1ml=15ppm of potassium per gallon.

according to the GH nute calculator my ratio of 10ml micro and 22ml bloom per gallon comes out to 824ppms with about 130N-136P-217K-134Ca-86Mg-116S which seems right. my ppms with just calmag usually comes out to about 250ppms for close to 1100 after pHing. the ratios seem high already but maybe i am underfeeding them.


pic 4 was more of an extra pic of something to show. i dont actually have that issue at all on the others. two leaves out of all the plants have that issue. but all the rest have what look like the first 3 but the second is the worst.

i do shake the calmag bottle when i use it. is it really that weak? much weaker than for say botanicare calmag? if i don't use calmag i usually throw in a gram of epsom salt per gallon. i also know that too much calmag can cause potassium lockout. im afraid that maybe my ratios are too high in calmag using 10ml micro and 22ml bloom in addition to a daily feeding of calmag.

you think too much potassium? is that what you found was wrong with yours?
 
Mmm,,coco...do you wash every so often as coco stores salts and has a well known salt build up going for it.....?? Wash !!!!! Then restart feeding...

sure does look like CalMag def.

Try G&H CALiMAGic as it has a little iron boost to it that helps the CalMag be more effective...

thanks for helping out my man! so you think it is calmag def? would my ppms at 134Ca-86Mg be low just using my micro and bloom nutes? I have been feeding 1/3 gallon of just pHed water the last few days to each so maybe i will start to feed again tomorrow. i am almost out of my calmag so maybe i will head to the store and get something different.
 
If it were a cal def you would have little yellow holes in your leaves also. Go with what you have on hand it won't take much to correct your problem. Since you realize that you are lacking in the area now I would advise to keep the suppliment in every watering right now. I don't know anything about soiless grows per se but you aren't going to be overfeeding it with that solution in your waterings. Best of Luck
 
The all burned tips thing, nute burn. Flush the shit out of it with half strength nutes and check the runoff until the PPM is back down. I bet when you flush it with 500-600 ppm nutes the runoff will be 1200-1400+, which means you're ripping salts from the soil and replacing them with some fresh food. Seems you need to flush it nice and good, with 2x the volume of the pot.

The rest, pH issues and NUMEROUS lockouts/issues. Flushing will resolve all of them. You've got salt buildup, you have to water more when you water because excess salts are staying in the pot.

I assume you aren't watering to a decent runoff, and if you are, you're overferting if there is salt buildup, the pictures tell the tale.

Flush, and they'll love you.

EDIT: Damaged shit won't repair itself. Just make sure it stops progressing.
 
100% cal mag deficiency and actually a textbook example! I would supplement your water with 5ml of liquid cal mag, just make sure that the product you use does not havenitrogen.
 
That just looks like nute burn to me.

The mag deficiency isn't typically so brown at tips, it usually shows up with tips that are lighter green than rest of leaf.

Plus that leaf bottom pic 2 (second set of pics) that looks like it could be phos [P] deficiency.

The necrosis on the tips is a sure sign of a cal deficiency but your right when you say that there is probably a (p) def as well.

thank you everyone that has responded! i greatly thank you!

the pic of the one with the p def is only two leaves like that on all the trees. i picked up a new bottle of gh calimag as that is what my store owner recommened. i use all gh products anyways so i figured i would just stick with it. i have been running only pHed water the last 4 days with little run off. maybe i will hit with water again today and collect the runoff and see what it is at. i also picked up a bottle of gh grow as i was only using micro and bloom nutes. i figured i would just get back to what the bottles recommend for coco.

also my shop owner stated he recommends feedings every watering with one day a week flush. do you agree? i have been doing just that since flow.

flushing is on the way! i will check out the ppms of the runoff. thanks for the suggestion
