potting soil mix help

today I purchased some potting soil at a local gardening center. it contains: double ground bark, compostost, perlite, peat moss, vermiculite, dolomitic lime and 1648 fertilizer. everyone I talk to out here claims this stuff to be the best soil to grow anything. so they say. my plan is to germ the seeds in a mason jar of water, veg them in the potting soil I just bought, and then flower them using the same kind of soil mixed with 1 part FFHF. anyone have any suggestions on how I can improve this plan or should I stick to this one?
