Thanks but i'll use my rain water in the future, 006 ppm, that should be good

If you have rainwater and it is under 150 ppm, use that. My hard water is about 450, so I RO my water down to about 80.

Does a higher ppm make the water harder? and the other way, does a very low ppm mean soft water?

Yes, may have iron or other dissolved minerals.....

Having a similar issue. Trying one plant in hydro to test the method and see if I like it. Got a TDS metre from Amazon. And my tap water is reading 167. Mix my nutrient solution at 1/2 strength or less from directions. TDS reads 297 ppm. Explain this. Because I understand this to mean I need to add more nutes if I am in veg stage "Young, established seedlings or rooted cuttings are started at 500-600ppm. The TDS is increased to 800-900ppm during peak vegetative growth". As quoted from a site. I am using DNF veg and flower. Don't mean to jack your thread but a too am having trouble understanding.
