Pre-Harvest Trick - Semi-flush

I have a perpetual grow and am in my flowering room every day playing with my girls. My brother grows also and recently turned me on to a new idea, he floods a plant with a gallon of water (using 3-gallon pots) the evening before the plant gets harvested. I harvest 2 plants a week and tried this right away. The 2 Blueberry Gum re-grows scheduled for next day harvest were flooded with a gallon of water each. Next day the 10-12 main colas were so large and fat the tops had started to droop over. By squeezing a main bud I could tell the nugs were just saturated with the extra water. Works for me!

Good luck, BigSteve.

Makes for a longer drying time but ive been curious of this myself but adding refined sugar. Also curious about lower temps, adding blue spectrum, shortening lighting the last two weeks by an extra two hours, as well as 24-48 hours of darkness before chop. These all are said to increase trich development and size, ideally yield too.

"If is just sucking up water that is going to be dried and cured out, what would be the advantage? ....., genuine question..."

I figure the flood of late water gives a plant a chance to produce as much resin as it is genetically capable of producing. We know bud stickiness is a good thing and doesn't it make sense that maximum resin production requires as much water as the plant can cycle? Besides, my nugs are sticky after curing. That stickiness I want is unevaporated water. Just my take.

Yea Steve that's perfectly plausible the more water the plant can take the longer the plant can either produce or develop wot is already in progress but I would say it would mean a longer drying time but during this drying time IS the plant still working for u ??????

In a perpetual grow there is little or no pressure to dry product quickly. I air dry my bud for 2-4 days depending on the ambient humidity. But haven't noticed my plants taking longer to cure since I started my pre-harvest mini-flush.

Good luck, BigSeve.

why would the plant take in more water on that final day?? a plant takes in what it needs every day, so on that last day why would it take up more than any other day?? must be a soil thing, i only grow in hydro and give them straight water just the last 2 days

Haha i got those same green bamboo sticks. Not sure why they paint them green thou..it rubs off easily..
Anyway, i stand by it. Solid dry and cure is all yu need. Think of it this way, how do yu flush outside?
And for that matter, yu cant really flush organics..
If yu tried..well it jus wudnt work like you'd hope lol.

You can't flush out door I know this thats why the smoke isnt as clean as indoor. And flushing simply means to run plently of ph'd water though your medium. So in soil you want to be sure to check your run off ppm/ec it should be as close to 0 which means your plant is drinking straight H2O nothing more and it uses up its own nutrients that its has left ....and I try to get a water in about 2 days before harvest that way the nugs are still a lil plump making it easier for trimming and takes a good 4/5 days to dry ...

Omg. Did you really just spout about black ash and flushing. Lol.

Snap crackles and pops along with black ash is generally moisture not dried out enough.

4-5 days to dry???

Try 7-10days with 55%RH 68F.

If you flush copious amounts of water through your rootzone you'll do nothing more than alter the osmotic pressure in the roots.

This causes water to be excreted and not uptaken.

Really Danoo I thought you had a little more about you.

Thats my purple strain I got out of a cross I did....also KK it looks like your plants are a lil Nitrogen toxic. And over watered.
naw, roots organic soil is rich in nutes and these sativa girls are sensitive in flower...apparently. I havent fed them once in 6 weeks.
