Since we can start with 5 I figured I'd do 1 or 2 differently.
Say, starting off in the cup week 1 have the cup filled halfway, grow for 2 weeks. Tip the cup pull her out, and add more soil. Repeat process during the weeks go by til no more soil can fill the cup .
Will be using same soil.

during the comp I have no objection to video documentation.

If you don't like how your local restaurant cooks their burgers, you can start your own business, that does things in your own vision of what is right. Whitebb is just exercising his right to establish something that conforms to his ideals. I don't see why there needs to be a schism over that.

obviously you understand how to get a plant mature in just the correct of medium. i support your journey in soil, just enough, until cup full. i plan on doing the same in my soil cup(s) if @The Dawg approves

Great minds think alike. Still deciding what medium I wana use tho. Maybe a half strength tiger bloom/ with rhizoblast saturated coco brick for starters, add a lil cal and mag. Dash of perlite

Dam this sounds like fun! I wish I could but I cannot grow due to a break in and a worthless fucktard stole my shit so I have a no grow clause in my home ! :(

WTF is a 5 oz party cup? 16 oz is the minimum that could be considered a party cup. 5 oz is for teetotalers.
Why put a limit on grow media volume? I don't get that.
I prefer 10 gal (2 cubic ft) of soil over a "party cup". I germinate with a little peat pod then put it into a 10 gal bag.
I understand it does not not qualify for the contest for not using a "party cup". I just do not understand the reasoning for such a limitation.
