Pretty sure there is an issue here, but what is it?

Hey guys, here is the issue ?

My plant has been grown under basic lights and in a regular pot with no nutes and no ventilation except for the central air but I am unsure if it helps because it is in the closet.

I have turned it over into 12-12 with a timer, there was a brief bug attack but I switch from miracle grow soil to crystal mud which are like little beads that hold water. This cut down on the bugs heavily but my pistils are brown and my fan leaves are dying slowly all over.

I have been cutting the dying ones off and newer white pistils are growing but extremely slow.

Any suggestions?

I do not have a pH meter either

Thanks,

pics would help as far as the fan leaves. as far as the crystal mud, I have never heard of it and would generally advise against anything not commonly use for cannabis. If others aren't doing it, there is a reason. If floral formation is slow it could be a P/K deficiencie due to the PH of the crystal mud. And that would explain the dying leaves. sorry Im kinda lost without pictures. If I were you I would get the hell out if the new mix and put into something like FFOF or FFHF ( fox farm ocean forest... fox farm happy frog) FFOF and in flower you wont need any additional fert for the remainder of bloom. However since you are already in bloom a transplant will only reduce you yield no matter what. get a fan blowing air across them as plants need to transpire and if they don't have air to help remove moisture from the leaves salts accumulate and the plants can reach nutrient toxicity and die. get a PH meter its a must have in this hobby. I own 3 digital and 2 paper and 1 chem reagent. also get a ppm/ec meter also another must have. you are only gonna grow as good as your limitations allow.

Okay thanks, I initially found out about the crystal mud because i saw people using it for bamboo and other plants for indoor use, it read non-toxic an safe for all plants but who knows. I am working on getting the ph meter now online because they do not sell them in stores around my area.

Also the leaves were dying in the regular soil so I switched it out maybe two or three days ago but I haven't really seen any more negative changes, I have been trying to post pics but I am using my iPhone an cannot figure how to upload them. I have taken lots of pics.

Cannabis unlike bamboo cannot sit in a vase of water. A plant I like to reference when info is sparse on cannibis is tomatoes. They have almost the exact same requirements as cannabis and product for tomatoes will give decent results in Cannabis. Cannabis specific products and futhermore strain specific will give the very Best results. Provided all the other requirements for environmental conditions are met.

also if leaves are dying that's a negative effect I think what you need to do is put it into a soil less based media with good drainage and high air retention. Make sure you check the ph. If in soil ph is between 6.2-7.0. 6.5 being the best as all nutrients needed for strong vigorus plants is available. So lets say that your fertilizer solution hoing in is ph stabilized at 6.2 and the water that runs out the pot is6.8. That means your real ph was too high probably around 7.2 which is way outta range and you need to lower it some more. Its gonna rise all on its own its a normal thing when plants are using more or less of a certain element. Just compensate for it. Target a ph always of 6.5. But allow it to fluctuate start around 6.2 let is rise to 6.8 then bring it back down to 6.2 this way all elements are and will be in available range. Hope this helps.

Growing in regular pots with basic lights is definitely the preferred method. But the switch to Crystal Mud, though helpful to control bugs, can often lead to plant parts turning brown. My suggestion would be to get a pH meter soon.

Hey guys! Bad news, apparently I was wrong about the crystal mud hydrating the plant properly, after the plant go so much water from them they eventually stop giving water to my plant for about two days. I had been sick in the hospital and came to find my little baby about 95% dead. I did something dumb as well. I immediately ran outside and grabbed some soil because the fox farms has not yet arrived and I watered it. The fan leaves were so heavy on the plant the it was dropping the plant to the floor and the stems were about to break so I cut off about 6 fan leaves, but left the stems. I am hoping that this will revive my plant but I do believe that I have caused it to go into stress and it may not be able to come back. If it does I do believe the weed will be very harsh. I am very sad because it started off so well, but I have many seeds and I am currently starting on a second plant. Which will receive only the best care.

Thanks for all of your help, I will keep you all updated

im not sure about harsh. smoke is harsh because the plants were not properly flushed before harvest and/or because the speed and method in which the buds were dry/cured. The final yield is what you should be concerned with. My very first plant I ever grew was a blueberry, and every leaf was brown and crispy plant only gave 1/8 oz when dried but that 1/8 was dank. lol now that I think about it, that dankness was probably fucking fertilizer which would explain why im slightly stupid!

lol, well then I should be good. I actually checked on my baby this morning and she was looking good! I had read a few journals about cutting off the fan leaves and some said it worked and other said it killed their plant. I took it of the 12-12 yesterday and will start it back tonight. I also read about reversing the flowering stage back to the beg stage to safe it and then bringing it back to the flowering (which I am trying). Im trying anything at this point. But I am glad to see some progress. I just home my fox farms get here soon.
