Problem with 8 Gallon pots?

Hey guys, I have my plants in 8 gall pots and I watered them 5 days ago. I usually watered plants where soil was about an 0.8' dry... but now after 5 days its getting nowhere near that...' it is still very wet 0.2'' under...
So my question is should I water anyways to bring nutrients or not, as I know over watering is never good, now I'm not sure..
