Producing Feminised Seeds Using Colloidal Silver

Hey Grumpy,

I thought you would like to hear my cool update. :eyesmoke:
My project that I am doing on an auto strain worked out perfectly and has started to produce and drop seeds.
I sprayed with silver, harvested and still harvesting pollen and now seeds. bongsmilie
So my seeds will be 100% Auto fem Blueberry.
100_0715.jpgauto seeds.jpg
there are about 20 seed pods that I can see and I am sure many more that I cant.
I am not sure how much longer this plant can go as its hitting 70days now.

Big thanks to Grumpy for such a great thread and now we know this will work on a auto plant if done early.

The earliest that I can start the seeds is the middle of June ... kinda gotta backlog of strains that need growing before I get back to the Red Dragon.
and: ... 3 months from now I will be popping the home made feminised Red Dragon seeds.
You're killing me... I read the whole FABULOUS thread, one of my favorite threads I ever read. I am going crazy to see the seeds pop -- maybe just pop 1?? Aw, man you are killing me (us). Anyway, I can give it a pass because you are the MAN, G.O.D!

This thread should be stickied for sure -- best, most scientific and picture-filled thread with real results I ever seen!

I have seen this done once -- but they just sprayed a random (1 of 2 planted) non-feminized seed plant that they wanted to be sure to get pollen from (to pollinate 3 other plant strains in the grow that were grown from bona-fide bought feminized seeds). The plant turned all male and the one next to it that was NOT sprayed was a male also. Since the plant was sprayed before they knew the sex, and judging from the results here in the pics where the plants look male... it is possible that the sprayed plant WAS a female! I assumed because it looked like the obviously genetic male right next to it that it just coincidentally was a male too (and the spraying was for nothing). COOOL! They may be a larger PERCENTAGE of female in the resulting seeds -- since they were pollinated by the genetic male AND the sprayed plant which could have been a female.... HUNDREDS of seeds per plant were produced, so popping a few to get an idea of sex ratios would reveal whether the sprayed plant WAS a female to begin with. If it was, there should be significantly more females.

Heh...I was somewhat careful when pollenating my intended target, but not extremely careful. It appears that one or two buds on a neighboring WW plant caught some. I got about a dozen good-looking seeds now of my unknown (but yummy) strain x with WW. My intended target is progressing nicely.

I am having trouble getting my colloidal silver higher than 15 - 20 ppm using 9v's

I let the 9v's do there thing all night. They may or may not be dead. Check ppm only 15 - 20.

Use same 15 - 20 ppm silver with fresh batteries. let it go all night and still 20 ppm but the glass has a silver coating and the bottom is coated in silver.

What gives??

use a DC power supply for better results. a cell phone charger will work and are plentiful in most places.

Is it possible to make 3000ppm and up with dc power supplies? Or is there a cap using this method?
I cant answer that, have no means of measuring PPM. You do though, so why not try it out and see what you get using different power supply strength. Wouldnt hurt much.

See that's something else that concerns me. My cheap meter. lol. Can all meters read the small nano particle sized silver I wonder?

Same thing happened to me....seems to be enough though

Awesome +rep

This encouraging as I am in the middle of my first try. Been in flower for only about 3 days.

I was very concerned the ppm wasn't high enough.

I'll let you know man! Now I just hope the strain I'm growing "accepts" the silver.....

It would seem that as the ppm rises and the conductivity increases and the process speeds up, The particles start to become too large and clumping together at the bottom.

Also the glass seems to get electroplated with silver, breaking the connection between the two pieces of silver. IDK.

This unit would be the ideal unit for colloidal silver production I believe as it can reach 30v - 1mA which from what I've gathered is the best current for making colloidal silver.

Made a little colloidal silver in late March see here.

Applied it to one branch of a Barney's auto 'Flower Power' that was already in flower, but sprayed it twice a day for 9 days anyhow.

Here's what the plant looks like right now - the Grumpy method really works!!!

what if the metal isn't pure (silver plated or alloy with mostly silver in it)? would there be any negative side-effects?

might not work. pure (.999) is easy to get. I got the ingots that G.O.D.mentioned on ebay for less than $5. Didn't use 'em thoiugh. I went to a jewelry craft store nearby and got 3 feet of 18ga silver wire for $15. My generator is pictured earlier in the thread.

I dunno why you are so hung up on PPMs anyway. It seems that if you generally follow the directions G.O.D. gave for making CS it will work. It also appears that there can be considerable variance in voltage and amps (to a degree) and still get an effective solution.

I was more hung up on the fact that I can't get it higher than 15 - 20 ppm. Just wanted to know if anyone new the science behind why.

My solution is working just fine.

edit: PPM's are important for when I want to drink it and particle size is a factor I'm concerned with as different particle sizes attack different things in my body.

Smaller particles for some disease larger for other. But we are making beans not curing cancer.

The he shes really started to curl up and look stressed out. But after a day or two of no spraying they started looking nice again. :bigjoint:
