Are cfls the same as halogen cuz im using 23 watt halogens and they look exactly the same as quiet a few other people lights i have seen

Halogen is about as effective as moonlight.

CFL's are Compact Florescents. Spiral looking bulb. They do not make spiral halogens to my knowledge.

Halogens are very inefficient. They waste most of the energy as heat. The spectrum is also very poor for growing marijuana. I would strongly recommend another set up.

I've never seen spiral halogens either, are you sure you don't have CFL's? (The package might say equivilant to 100w halogen).

Hg is the IUPAC symbol for the element Mercury... the lamps have mercury inside them

You wanna get 2700 k colour temperature CFL's for flower, and 6500k for veg. OR use both all the time.
