I lived next door to a city cop for six years. He was a nice guy & we got along great. He wasn't the testosterone-charged bully that we see in the news. Just a mild mannered family guy, doing his job.
I watch a lot of detective shows & it's always ironic when the same people who called the police, won't help the police.
911, what is your emergency?
Help, someone shot my friend!
(later at the scene...)
Do you know anyone who wanted to hurt your friend?
I don't know nuh-in.
Fuck the police...

Pretty obvious why. Police generally don't help these people or solve the crime. Why would they feel inclined to help the police?

I'm sure the pigs are busy getting their story down, and I guarantee it will be idiotic. Since they had the guy pinned to the ground, with a hand on his head, I don't think they can use the "I was afraid for my safety" line, so it will probably be He went for my gun.

It will no doubt be a self defense, line it always is

If cops are shit and never help me, I would probably have an unfavorable opinion of cops. If someone is robbing me and cops are the people we're told you're supposed to call during such situations, and I still hate cops, and I call them to come help me, it doesn't make me a hypocrite

Yep. Police want to go home after work, just like everyone else. If they respond to a call of a man threatening others with a gun, they are going to assume he has a gun.
Duh.
No word on whether he actually had a gun, but I bet he was packing, given what I've heard so far.

Um, no. But when a cop gives me orders, I follow them and thats why I dont die when I encounter police.

See now I know when and how to do that if at all. I`ve gotten away many more times than caught. Back in the day, they didn`t like the paperwork if they shot you, easier to haul you in beaten and let the desk to the paperwork.

No it doesn't

I can very well hate cops and still call them to do their job without being a hypocrite. If I hated cops and pretended to like them, that would make me a hypocrite
Bullshit X 2

You: Fuck the police!
Police: Fine. Don't call us when you need help.

Problem with this is... the crime is almost (notice the almost) always over before cops arrive. On a very rare occasion a cop will actually arrive or happen upon a crime in progress. So basically, they arent there when you need the help. They arrive after to make a report. Then you are in a postion where most normal people will need the police reports and hope that something might be recovered or justice is served.
