Prove it LED users!! Post your pics of ur LED grows..

Obviously the truth on leds lies somewhere in the middle as is the case with most things under hot dispute. I swear, some hps users act as if they gave birth to the things they are so defensive. No technology stays on top forever. The future of grow lighting may not be the current generation of leds but it isn't hps either.

And another thing, pictures don't prove shit. I'm sick and tired of people saying they do. There are pictures all over the internet that can be used and anyone with marginal photoshop skills can show you a picture of anything you want to see. The pictures, just like the verbal claims, are only as good as the person presenting them.

I have 2 300 Watt LED lights. I don't like them because they make strange lines and spots on the leaves and make them grow funky. I have never tried flowering with them since I don't want to take the risk of not having a decent crop.

If you get them close they will fry the leaves but if you back them off then the light is not strong enough. Maybe the UV rays from the blue LEDs are cooking the leaves.

Just for fun I am posting pics of some buds I just grew in rock wool cubes sitting in a tray of water under HPS lights.

Here is a few for ya, 90w UFO +3x20w CFL, Ionic bloom and boost, Flowering day 50. The strain is Chrystal.

I've been looking at the 90w at sunlightsheds.com and just called and talked to Larry. He sold me when he said if I wasn't happy with it after 2 months I could return it for a refund and that he's never had to make good on that. They won't have them in until Wed. I have three plants 10 days into 12/12 that I would like to put it over. I'm still skeptical because these will be 3 ft plants and I don't that that it can penetrate that far. I plan to use some T5 HO fixtures on the sides.

I think the only 2 things good about cfl or led is they are cheap and don`t make heat.

for the amount of cfl's you need they generate plenty of heat

ok here is my theory since im using ufo with cfl's. i doubt there better then hps. highly doubt it BUT.... for a person like me whos freaked out about the heli's flying over the house and the fact i can use much electricity cause the bills not in my name. the led and cfl combo is very convient. it does what its supposed too it works plain and simple it works. are they as dense and big as hps buds probably not im actually just started flowering so i cant say to much but i still wanna say if i had an hps i'd see better results for sure. but the one thing that freaks me out most about the hps is the fact that i dont live alone and it seems to be the typ eof bulb if u get a bad apple and get an exploding bulb catching fire. idk if all thats worth it for some bud im gunna smoke. i mean that just were feeling comfortable comes in u kno? i mean if i was trying to really really get the best best bud id go hps. also i only paid 150 for my ufo. so for the people droppin big bucks ya that sucks. i mean it just hard to believe a 90 watt is compared too a 400watt hps i mean idk what it really compares too but its def not a 400 watt hps.

on that note id like to say really there should be no beef on the discussion i mean led does make budss.... better then hps? no.... but is it more comfortable to leave my led light on all day i would say ya.
i guess its just for different reasons in my opinion, not because its the best thing u can get for the craziest bud. then again ill see how my grow is lol. Oh one more thing speaking of fires. there is a new magazine the urban garden? has anyone loook at it the have a page with self tempature read extinguishers. guess they go off automaticly once reaching 150f. sounds kinda cool to me just hang it up. let me know if anyone has one?

also im using 1. 90watt ufo with 6. 35watt cfls that supposly put out 2700 lumens a peice and out for 4 plants im getting alll females white pistils are shooting out all over now. first grow tho i have had a shit ton of problems but i think everything is very well bakc on track now ill post an older pic right the day i switched to 12 12

there getting better trust me lol i had ph flucuation. cal diff. and i fucked up over watering so slowed the grow down pretty good. 1 indica blue cheese the tall one is og kush and the other 2 are la woman

Im not making a claim that LEDs are the best. Im not making the claim that these are huge colas.
But,
These colas were my second grow, and the plants were switched to 12/12 when they were still only 10 inches high. The plants were under 15 inches tall, and this one yielded over an ounce of really good herb, that smells like oranges.
Conclusion,
For a small closet grower, LEDs can be a good option. Given all categories of judging a product, including personal needs, price of operation, product life, and the need to stay clandestine, LEDs may be a BETTER option for some.


I like to use the automobile analogy. Some people drive SUVs, some drive Civics, and they pick their vehicle based on their individual needs.

I know you all are probably sick of this already. Even if I have to say I've been to Eloofaimports.com to get my research on those 1 watt diodes; CRAP LED's. I still know something you all probably want. First of all never purchase something you don't understand. I've researched for myself to find the very best on the market that will destroy the last impressions of distrust about all over growth and that's with the quality of THIS LED fixture comparable and better as to be confident, then any burning hot unsafe to leave the house while it's left hanging 1000w bulbs. I totally agree...!Leds may not be the best way to get BIG BUDS but its a nice solution for someone that wants to smoke some home grown weed.
I just started testing them so i cant say for sure.We 'll see...i believe that leds ARE the future of growing but its new technology and not perfect yet.It will get better!

It seems to me there are too many people using them for full grows with satisfaction for them to suck as much as some want us to believe. Forget the hps - if a 90w ufo equals even 300 watts of cfls then at $200 it's a buy in my book.
