Question about fumes from waterproofing sealant

Hi All,

I just made 2 3x3 wood tables on wheels to place my 8 plants on as I have an extremely narrow growing space. They are all on plastic trays so not directly on the wood. I waterproofed the boards with a silcone based caulk and this waterproofing sealant: http://www.pro.olympic.com/OlympicPro/products/exterior-stains/product-exterior-stain.aspx?ProductID=10

I have let this shit dry for like 3 days and it still smells a little bit. I am wondering.. would the off gassing of this product affect my plants negatively in any way? I have a great ventilation system recycling the air every minute or two.. but I was curious if anyone knew? Pretty much anything you use, plastics, plywood, paints, etc.. all off gas chemicals so I think i am fine but was curious.

Thanks for any help

Anyone have ideas on this? Just put them in my room and am having second thoughts about possible toxic fumes.

In case anyone cares I removed my beautifully made tables and are rebuilding them this weekend with only silicone caulking, no chemical waterproofing. After an exhaustive search on the internet I found several threads about "bad grow room syndrome" where the chemicals in raw materials negatively affected the plants potential. Since the chemical smell was pretty intense in my room and I could barely stand it, I figured my plants wouldnt like it either. another 80$ in materials isn't worth losing everything imo.

Let that be a lesson to anyone trying to use chemical sealants/waterproofing for their grow room! Don't make my mistake!
