Question about my setup

Hey everyone, First time growing anything to be honest. I was on a pretty tight budget (think I kept it under $500) for this initial setup. I'm currently running a 600w LED viparspectra reflector series 600w in a 4x4x7 tent I also got happy frog soil, fox farm nutrients, everything to balance pH and 5 gal smart pots. I currently have the tent at 74-76 degrees and 60% humidity with just the 6inch inline fan for ventilation. I was curious how these would hold up for growing conditions until I can afford another 600-900w led and go for the 1200-1500w in the 4x4. I'm currently planning on trying 2 plants for the first grow, will this 600watt led setup be enough power for them?

Do yourself a favor and get rid of the led when you flower. Actually, I wouldn't use them at all unless I'm trying to keep clones alive. Go with MH then HPS for flowering. That's just my preference though.

You can flower with led to great effect, not so much with the blurple units. You need white light. White light is true full spectrum. That being a "300" watt light im guessing is only like 125 true watts. The "equivalent to" number is misleading and really just a marketing tactic. They also call these lights full spectrum. They are not. If you are on a very tight buget, your monthly electrical bill is a concern and you have no means, knowledge, or ability, they are an option. That light in a 4x4 is very under powered for flowering though. What i recommend for people on a budget or where temp is a concern is household led bulbs. Cree bulbs are $5 for a 4 pack at home depot. You can make a 10 bulb setup for about $60, bulbs included. Supplement your current light with 2 8-10 bulb units and you got yourself some light fit for flowering.

Hello there. I to was on somewhat of a budget whem I first started my grow. I started out with just a 400 watt mh/hps. Initially for my 4x4x8 tent. Then realized that I wasn't going to have enough light coverage . So i bought the 450watt ( 200 true watt draw) viparspectra to add as supplemental lighting. I will say this.....for being blurple led and very inexpensive $125 shipped. It made a very noticable difference in growth speed. I think you would be better off doing something similar. Lile adding a 250/400/600 watt mh/hps. To your tent. They are pretty inexpensive now. I picked up my ballast, mh and hps bulb, and reflector for $120. Here's some pics of my setup . I will say this, the viparspectra is probably one of the better quality cheap led s. They have alot of blue and red spectrum . But lack alot of white light. Which is why i switch back and forth every week between my Mh bulb and Hps bulb. So far my plants look absolutely perfect and is getting plenty of light so far.
