Question on cloning

i dont want any body to take my opinion. i saw someone that asked a question so i thought i would suggest some things. you do your thing and i'll do mine, so do you like being a fucking hemroid cause this isnt even your post to bitch at people about cutting green leaves in.

im not wasting any time at all they root in1 1/2 to 2 weeks the way i do it and im happy

clones and seedlings should not get nutes till they are about 1 month old unless your feding them 1-1-1.5 B-1 Thrive then you can feel your freshly rooted clones and seeds with taproot with a weak mix

Hey bro ive found cloning in a simple cup of water in indirect light was the easiest way to clone.AS long as you follow normal ways of cutting and scraping the base of ur cutting and change the water in the cup daily.It has already been described thousands of times on this site i think u will find this the easiest technique although there are several ways to clone, this one involves alot less elements. And in my own experience i guess was the easiest.
Here is a pic of some clones i took 3- 4 weeks into flower(notice the fully matured bud sites) using this technique.Keep in mind that clones take more or less time to establish depending on which stage u take ur cutting at. These ones here are about 2.5 weeks in the cup and barely starting to get my first bumps of root formation.Ive had clones take only 2 days for fist signs of root formation. Like i said it depends on flower and veg stages.hope this helps.keep in mind once roots are established u can place clones in any medium u want.

yeh i agree with you man i laughed when i saw that pic why would you ever cut the leaves like that, just do it from the stem like this guy said

so you just wack the clone off any time early in the flower stage? cut it at a 45 degreee anlgle and put in clean water?

how many nodes do you cover up with water?

has this ever caused any stress to the mom since she is in direct flower?

Not to date as far as stress. Those clones are actually tops that outgrew the rest of the plants. But have done it and usually do do that often with no ill efects.Matter of facts the particular mom i pulled those tops from shot a few more tops i may have to chop lol.
I dont cover any nodes in water seems like that would stress a cutting the most, In this case i took my cuttings from the main stalk just above top of the last true node.
I take all my cutting from the top of the last true node.

well i wasn't trying to even start explaining it to you newbs but here it goes anyway

the plant does this thing called photosynthesis, now in order to do that it needs to have roots so water and nutrients can travel to the leaves where there is light being sucked in by the chlorophyll, the more leaves, the more photosynthesis takes place. one thing cant operate without another. so it may take others to be compromised.

now to my point when you take a cutting it is gonna have to much foliage and no roots to have all that shit happen. so you cut the leaves shorter ( and no it doesn't hurt it) all it does, is just cut all this activity in half so it can concentrate more on rooting than the above process. after two weeks bright new green foliage grows and the trimmed leaves fall off because the plant will use these nutrients stored in the leaves, it cant use them for photosynthesis but it can use them for their nutrients. like i said before my clones always root in less than two weeks and I've done it a hundred times to know that they don't Hermie in the end.

I'm not telling anybody to use this technique but simply sharing my experience with someone else. and i know for a fact that this doesn't hurt the plant one bit but helps it in my opinion and its just that my opinion from experience.

and besides they are already stressed to hell n back from getting chopped off the side of a plant so i dont see just trimming its leaves is gonna hurt any worse.

People, Hiazhell is right. A little more hostile than I would have been but still right. A cutting needs to devote all of it's energy to growing roots, not leaves. Having giant leaves will make your cutting root slower, period. This is why you put cuttings under low light because too much light will make the plant try to grow and get N def and yellow. Is anyone that is saying not to trim the leaves in half actually cloned before?

I see why nobody wants to help new growers.

I have 2 different clones. They have been in soil for a week now, I only did the trimming leaves technique on one of the plants and both of them are still looking as healthy as when we took the clipping. they are in the flowering stage though so i think its going to take longer for them to root

Yes he is absolutely right. I started cutting my leaves about 6 months ago. Cut all the big fan leaf fingers right in half and they root in way less time. All my buddies that grow do this too and the time has sped up. I use by bubble cloner and have a 100% success rate and massive roots within 10 days tops.

at 7 when my light kicks on, i am hoping to take a few cuttings. i can't really remember how many i will be able to take. they will all be bottom branches.

i am not planning on using any chemicals. just whack em off at a 45 degree and put them in water. i will cut some of the leaves if they are big enough (not rememberingwhat they look like) the other clones i will leave alone.

That's cool. It does seem to go against what you usually think helps keep a plant alive - cutting it all up. But it really does help. Here's an example of how I do mine. Very simple setup - 100% success. I use just a little (5 drops from an eyedropper) grow nutes in one gallon of water and change out the water in the tray every day. Don't let the water temp drop below 75 and you're good to go. I've also come to like putting 2mL per gallon of general hydroponics Liquid Karma in there. Seems to speed things along.
