Raspberry Cough and Afgan Kush grow.

I only sampled the Afghan Kush and it's a really nice smoke. Not really a couch lock at first but after a while that part creeps up on you. At first it's just a really nice body stone and it has a very nice taste and smell to it. My wife's cousin and I smoked some on Christmas Eve, I had a small bowl on Christmas Day night and my brother and I smoked a little too much last night and he had to have his son drive him home, lol.
It still needs more cure time but it was really good for only curing for a few days.

I'll be chopping the other two Afghan plants either today or tomorrow I think.

View attachment 1348123View attachment 1348122View attachment 1348121hey dez hows it going ??? i stopped by to get your opinion on a few things my new grow is starting to bud right on schedule & im trying to increase my yield -vs- dollar spent ratio [yeah the ole wheels are turning] im gonna make a 44x36 tub to replace the 36x36 one i use & be able to keep a 10 gal. feed amount & use 5-8'' slabs & a staggered plant configuration also im gonna run a 10 day feed cycle[which ive already started] my goal is to generate 1lb. of product every 80-90 days or less [i read my log & last grow was 82 days] im real close to achieving this goal 14 oz. last grow. my new configuration will allow 13 plants & a 10gal.-10day schedule any throw me a bone here & let me know what you think ,i think better results can be had with homebuilt stuff than the store bought stuff after some r&d i got really stoked off my last grow, its finaly coming together into something that im happy with here is todays pics, i started this in my room dec.1st. my room wasnt empty 1 day & the next gen. was in there

Awesome man, I only hear great things about the Afghan. I'm really interested in trying it out..

Well, that's pretty much what I was thinking of doing and will be doing basically that on the next run under the 1K light. Only difference being I'll have two trays that size. I called the people that advertised selling those containers and they are supposed to call me when they have more ready to go. I'm going to cut in a manner to get two trays that size and run them side by side under the 1K on the light rail. I was thinking of 12 per tray for a total of 24 plants in a 4x8 area but those trays will only take up 3x7 or 3.5x6 and the plants will have some room to spread out a bit.

I plan on using the GH 3 part formula with the keep it simple program but will do it the way you do with the slabs going in a recirc E&F. I don't see it being very difficult to achieve 1lb from that many plants under a 1K light. There's people that get over 1lb with a single 600 over a 3x3 tray on a regular basis so it should be very reasonable to expect that type of yield from your setup. I'm hoping to get 1lb from the 7 plants that are under the 1K light now and am scrogging them to help out the yield. All plants were topped and then repotted into 3gal containers about a week or so before going to the new place and they're vegging under the 1K HPS right now. I'll be switching to 12/12 by the end of the week and hoping they fill out the screens that total a 4x8 area.

hey dez just got in ive been over at olcountrys[my partner] helping him post some pics of his 2000w slh grow & get his thread started ive finaly got a taste of how things could be & im gonna try to fire up another room by spring [3x3-600w.] if i can the wife is diggin a little extra here&there too aint life grand ????

Well it might be time to start a new thread or journal or something since I've now harvested all but the original RBC plant that now stands close to 6' high. I've got some clones from the Afghan girls going but other than that it's a bunch of different strains and some are in the vert and some are in a scrog.

Looking nice dez.I might have to go bigger next round maybe a 600 maybe add another 400 to the one i have already.I dont know yet but i know i will get another light maybe a 250 for a total of 650 watts.But you make me want to jump and get the 1000 watt.Im just scared of that electric bill..

I like the 600s better than the 1K for efficiency so this 1K may not be a permanent thing. It may get replaced with a single 600 on the rail over a 3x6 and have another identical one on the other side of the room for 36sq ft total. You get an extra 4 sq ft for only another 150 or so watts used and can have the lights even closer. I found the 1K used for under $200 with a new in box bulb so I couldn't pass it up and have another one coming that I won on Ebay for even less but has no bulb. Not sure if I'll ever hook that one up or not, might just put a bulb in it and throw it on Craigslist.

If I don't keep it I'll be selling it after these plants are harvested. I may end up selling the one that's coming in a few weeks if I decide not to keep it. I won't be selling the 600s any time soon though, too efficient to get rid of.

32 sq ft for approx 1100 watts of draw with the 1K magnetic versus 36 sq ft for 1310 watts of draw with the two 600 digitals I have. I'll take the 600s any day of the week unless I see some dramatic difference in bud structure or yield with the 1K light. I don't think I will though.

Yeah the 1k light.I know im dying for a new and bigger light.But it looks like i might get another 400 since the price is where i would want it to be with cooltube and bulb im looking at 200 as to where the 600 its more like 250+ shipping..So ill see what happens,More than likely i would get the 600 or 1000 watt around uncle sams refund time.I might even get a 90 watt led ufo

I got my 600s with cooltubes off ebay for $235 each shipped. They're not name brand ballasts but I don't really care about brand names.

He's got lot's of other stuff for sale all the time and pretty good prices it seems on most stuff. He's closer to you than he is to me too, somewhere on the east coast I think.

I just scrolled through his store and didn't see any 600s but he's got a bunch of 400 digitals with either an air cooled hood or a cooltube for $200 shipped. There's a bunch of 1K lights too but they're all over $300. I dind't pay anywhere near that for mine but mine was also used.

I've just been watching Craigslist and Ebay pretty closely lately and have been able to get some good deals on stuff. The 1K ballast that's coming now was under $100 with shipping and I won it on Ebay. It's a Sunlight Supply too so it should be easy to resell if I don't keep it. The one I'm using is an Agrostar or Coolstar, can't remember but it has a cheapo hood. It looks fine but it's nothing special.

Hey dez love the set-up, and your plants look nice and healthy too

Have you started flower already? I cant remember.
If you find that some of the galls are not getting as big as youd hoped you could try slowly raising them every day with some blocks of wood or something. Im just thinking that would bring more plant material to the screen, and any empty areas can always be filled with a clone...
In your exp, how much do these strains stretch?

Thanks and yes they'd been on a 12/12 cycle for one day when I took the pics. I changed the timer on Tuesday afternoon so te light went out a little early and then was only on for 12 hrs after that.
