How do we do guys

right il start with my set up. 20 litre 6 pot rdwc with 120litre reservoir. In a 1.2x2.4m tent under 2 600wt lights.

i dont use RO water i use tap water. Ec is 0.5 and ph is 6.5 before any nutrient is added.

My issue is PH and EC

i can get to the perfect ph area of 5.5-6.2 when my nutrients are added. But the only issue is my EC keeps rising past 1.6. I cant seem to get it low without affecting the PH ( i lower ec and ph rises back to 6.5)

can someone tell me if im doing something wrong or? This is my first time doing rdwc im a coco sort of person but got sick of lugging sacks of coco around.

look forward to the responses guys :D

Im debating it, its just the cost of the system and chiller and then an RO on top was stressing my wallet slightly. If i was to purchas an RO would that solve my probleMs?

Tap water is fine and is not the problem. Your tap water is p hard tho at .5ec. But yes ro is better.

I use tap in my flood drain.

Your nutes and your ph have a direct relation to each other. More nutes lower ph. Less nutes higher ph.

How big are the plants?

1.6 ec is ok if the plants are big.

What nutes are you using?

If you want lower ec mix less nutes and use more ph down.

After I do a res change and ph my water it raises up after the first day. I ph it back down and then it is some what stable around 6. You want it to wander around a lil.

Its weird i have been using ph down and up but they seem to also raise my ec when used. I used some ph down earlier. Got 5.8ph but ec then rose to 1.8

So use about half the nutes you used and slowly increase.

My tap is .33 ec. Ph 7.8. Total ec for small plants was .5-.7.

After they got some leaves bump it up to 1.5 total.

I'm in week 1 flower or so and my ec is 2.0 - 2.2 total...to be clear that is hi. But I see no burn. Some lower leaves yellowed so I'm pushing it higher.

Ph down adds to the ec. How much do you use? I have the advanced nutrients ph down and it is strong as fuck. 4ml for 10 gallons.

I literally used like 1.5ml of each A & B . But if use 0.5ml of each base feed do i then use PH down to get to correct ph and will that keep the EC stable? Sorry to sound like a tool

That little got you to 1.8 ec in 120litres? Or is that 1.5 per liter?

And yes. Use as much ph down as needed to get between 5.5 and 6.

Ec will fluctuate a little. Just try to keep it in a range. If it goes up add water. Goes down add nutes and water.

yes mate 1.5ml per litre

im going to drain the system and start again. Adding 0.5ml per litre of a&b and see where that brings me
