Ready to Harvest

Few months back germinated some seeds (THC BomB). Got some nice plants. As the tent was taking up valuable space in my small home i moved plants outside (very secluded).

Planted when 2 feet tall. now over 3 feet. They are in flower and buds are nice. Some as big as my fist !!

I used the old l ook at tricr ome method and under magnification they are about 70% cloudy a few clear and a few light brown. Have been in flower only 3-4 weeks but could they be finished based on color of trics?

Leaves are starting to go pale and some brown spots on leaves?

I have heard tric method is fool proof but i do not see alot of multicolored hairs just some red. Maybe that is how it is in this strain?

I don't want to cut too early but afraid if i wait all brown trics and ruined crop.

I'll try to attach pics. Oh yes lots of glistening crystals when viewed up close.

What to do?

Sure you're time frames are right? 3-4 weeks in flower you usually won't see the size of your fist (unless you have very tiny hands) or that number of cloudy trichomes. Leaves yellowing and spots on leaves is a sign the plant is finishing up. Some it starts early at around mid-flower and some it's just in last few weeks, so not really a bad thing.

You are correct.
Thinking back more like 6 weeks flower
Ill let it go a bit and watch trics.
Do they change fast or slowly over days/weeks?

Not ready yet imo. Are you checking trychomes from leaves or from the calyx where you are suppose to? Leaves mature much faster. Hard to tell from the first pic but the top of the buds look white.

Sorry man, little late, but it is more of a drawn out kind of thing. Watch the trichomes and you can see their process unfold. Also, the trichs at the top of the plant will generally be more mature- more hormones, more light up there. It will not mature over night on you, but when you know you are getting close, check ever day and you should be able to make a decision based on that.

That stuff for sure looks premature. The hairs are white but this is not a good indicator of maturity. It is a general indicator as the maturity of the trichomes and the hairs, or pistils, will usually be mature at similar times, but it is the trichomes which have the active ingredient in it and thus much more important. Your buds should go through a swell in which the hairs will recede and become less dominant. Most strains go through this and instead of the flowers looking like they need a hair cut with long hairs everywhere they will become less dominant as the bud "fills in." There are also lots of good pics on google regarding milky vs clear vs amber trichomes. Good reference. Also be sure to use a white LED flashlight, daylight, or take a sample into a metal halide room if you are in a HPS room as the red/yellow light will make the trichomes look more amber than they are and make it hard to tell how mature they are. Hope this makes sense. Have fun, be safe :)
