Reasons to tell someone a door is locked

I have my whole setup upstairs and I have workers and lots of family coming over the next couple of weeks. I'm looking for a good reason to tell them a door is locked.

A Dr. friend from Liberia stayed there last week? I know bad humor. How about you lost the key? But then theres the helpful person skilled at picking locks, brings up a whole nother conversation. It's a bitch lying, but been there and done that. Good luck.

Good one just wouldn't work in my situation. Just moved in and all the husband's friends and family are coming over know I only have a couple of family members alive.

I can't be honest w mine about "our" hobby.
