I say go with previous posters Idea of it's being used as storage for a friend's belongings. Even make up a story about how he's getting divorced/broke up and had to move out. You're just being a top tier bro and helping him out. Or he's having to spend a couple weeks in the pokey if your people are cool with that sort of thing. Just be sure to go balls to the wall on smell control. Grab a few buckets of Ona and put em all over the place outside your grow room. The mold excuse also works. You're keeping it closed up til your buddy comes to help fix it up in a week or 2. Or the landlord is.

Tell them a friend/family member is staying with you for a few weeks and he is staying in that room with all his or hers stuff, and it stays locked
Its upstairs correct lock the door an leave it at that the chances of someone asking why is the door locked to part of ur house were someone does not live wont happen lock it amd leave it alone. Nosey people loose teeth. Or just say i have a room full of dope amd hookers tied up. Let them look at you and walk away
