Recirculating Under Current DWC Systems????

My res is connected to my 4 buckets. This is my first grow and wanted to see how it went. I like that idea of the res and control bucket. You have never had any issues with your setup?

well i built it when it was still summer and it gets very hot where i am.. i can't afford a chiller still and had some water temp issues and ended up getting root rot which led to scrapping 4 plants... but live and learn right? My water now, still without a chiller, is staying around 74 degrees and if i add frozend bottles in the control bucket i can get it down to about 68 degrees... other than that i have not had any issues... How far into your grow are you? Have you had any issues?

I just went into my 5th week of flowering. I am having an issue right now with the plants starting to get little yellow circles on all the leaves. You know what that could be? I live north so my res is never bad, about 72 at all times. What are some good benneficials or something else to keep res and bucket algae and other fungs?

yeah dispo that is funny i subbed to that Bennie thread too... and am looking to do just that hopefully in a couple weeks... What do you think the rust color circles would be from dispo...?

i have purchased a bottle of the new foxfarms "Kangaroots" ad will be getting the other bottle of Foxfarms "Microbes" as soon as possible.. but i have been using the Kangaroots here for about 2 weeks and it seems to be helping a lot too... and that is supposed to be all the bennies and what not as well.. just like heisenbergs formula for the tea... so we will see.

Yeah, I think there are many products out there that have similar
ingredients, but his focus is to do it as cheap as possible and get
the most out of what you made.

Rust colored spots are a sign of cal/mg deficiency I think. I had a
slight case of it due to my RO water, but have since found an addative
to fix that.

Yeah i totally hear you and i still want to try it but i got the bottle of Kangaroots for 20 bucks and the Microbes i belive is the same price... so i am still getting out for about the same price as i would be if i bought the ZHO/Aquashield/Ancient Forest (Which i am finding has to be ordered at most grow shops by me) and it seems to be helping big time... i am only 2 weeks in on using the product so i can't say 100% that it is worth it's weight in gold, but it does seem to be doing something good...

Here are some pictures of my lady's that I have at my buddies place. There pictures of the leaves are whats going on. I use fox farm nuts and have seen the kangaroots but didn't know what it was for, I might try some. My roots are turning a little brown and have no clue whats going on. Using under current DWC, res about 72 -76. I have put in peroxide in to try and clean it. It does take all the green slime of the sides. My system is light proof and think the temps are getting hotter during afternoon time, leading to the brown roots. This is my first grow and really don't know to much about my issue. What do you guys think?IMG00186-20101121-2302.jpgIMG00205-20101122-1800.jpgIMG00196-20101122-0713.jpgIMG00206-20101122-1800.jpgIMG00207-20101122-1801.jpgIMG00187-20101121-2302.jpgIMG00195-20101122-0713.jpg

no i am just using tap water.. i had noticed some small rust color spots but i think that was from the last time i gave the a good spray of End All pesticide before flower... so when you had mentioned that to thomas i was wondering what some of the reason might be, but i don't think i have a cal/mg issue IMHO.... but neverthe less thanks for the info.. one more thing to put up in the memory bank...

im using tap water as well, the PH is not bad. It stays right around 7.16. When you guys add water to your res what PH do you set yours at before dumping it in? My ol' man has a R/O that he doesn't use at his house but its only a single stage.

Well in all honesty i when i add water to my res i usually just add a little H2O2 and a tbsp of ph down and it is good to go... i control the ph in my system from the control bucket anyways so it doesn't matter too much what my res is at... i keep to airstones though in my res going 24/7 as well just to keep it moving and no nutes in my res...... my tap is right around 7.0-7.2 straight out of the faucet

I just bought this product called Hygrozyme, local shop said this was one of the best. You ever heard of it? I am hoping this takes the color back to the leaves, i'm thinking most of it had to do with my PH being off so damn bad. Dialed in the PH over the past couple day and circles are starting to fade, so I hope by going this step it will clear right up. That shit is expensive as fuck though!

Hygrozyme was a product I was recommended as well and many people stated
that they'd stake their name on the product. I've used it for several years now
and it definitely helps keep things cleaner. It's really not THAT expensive compared
to a lot of the products out there.

I'm not sure about it fixing your issue though, as it's simply enzymes that break down
decaying matter for the plant to use as food.

Could it be some kind of buildup? Maybe try a flushing agent for a few hours then
adding your nutes back?

I did try to flush it, but with no flushing agent, I saw this product called Bush Doctor Sledgehammer. I use Fox Farm nuts and it's apart of their lineup. I have all Fox Farm nutes line up but not the three Bush Doctor line. My local hydro shop guy gave me this list of nutes to use and how much at every week, He said he has tried everything in diff ways. He said the chart he gave my produced the biggest buds out of every mix he brewed up. It cost about 300 US to start with QT, or LT sized bottles, a shit load more with the bigger bottles.

Hi Lightguy420 and friends, I have been running these systems for a few years now and have run into most the same issues. After I finally dialed in my first grow, all the rest have been very successful with little work. I managed to get into pro biotics quite a bit and found them to be the solution to algae growth as well as reducing of future root rot.

I have my current grow journal here http://www.420magazine.com/forums/journals-progress/132139-undercurrent-dwc-grow-journal.html#post1222423 .

I have installed 14 of these systems in the last year and everyone is very happy with their performance. I pre treat the entire system with pro biotics for a week with the higromite in the netpots, this treatment along with a weekly doses of beneficials seems to keep my water nice and clean along with my buckets.

What up farmer.ed.... Yeah i am still skeptical on this system and i think i am going to wait until i can get a chiller before i run it again. I to like the fact that this system is being used more regularly... i checked out your forum and watch the video, it looks like you have your water level is fairly high and perhaps up to the net pots themselves, you don;t have any root rot issues with the water being so high? What kind of bennies are you using? i am doing my next grow in coco and will be adding the fox farms KANGAROOTS and MICROBES BREW to my mix which is supposed to be all the bennies that i will need, so we will see... but there is another thread on hear for making your own bennies with a couple of botanicare products and some GH soil amendment that i am reading about people saving crops and having amazing results https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/361430-how-breed-your-own-beneficial.html so if i don;t have luck with the FF Bennies then i will be for sure trying this brew out.. I appreciate you stopping by and after readin your forum on 420 it sounds like we are in similar areas... i to am in a desert in ca. where temps can reach well into the 100's in summer and then down to teens and lower in winter months... happy growing bro and thanks for stopping by and sharing... oh where did you get those buckets? those are the 13g buckets right?
