Man I will help where I can since others are quite I've done about 4 dwc grows. I find once they are in a larger state like this they have developed a relationship with the bacteria you use (hydroguard) and can handle the warmer water so long as there's no major swings. Like dumping cold water into the res :P been there lmao

Yeah, appreciate the input. Single plant grows like this are probably not super interesting to most folks.

That makes sense about more established plants in an environment with beneficial bacteria being able to handle higher temps. I'm still just kind of paranoid with all my roots falling off in a slimy brown mess not too long ago. Can't believe it's the same plant. The new roots are huge and white!

I got this new 960 GPH air pump that I haven't installed yet. I'm thinking about splicing the air intake hose into an AC duct and see what happens to the temp. Maybe nothing but I like experimenting.

Thanks! I'm hoping to end up with the tops of the plant 12 to 18 inches from the light. As you can see from the wide angle, she's still got some room left. Thinking about switching when the tops are parallel with the top of the Bluelab monitor.

This plant is super thirsty. My top up meter is reading 0.7 gallons per day. Though, I do have a computer fan blowing on the water in the external res, so some of that is evaporation. PPM dropped from 810 to 720 since I added calimagic last Thurday. I just bumped it up to 890 and added 20ml of hydroguard.

The res temp has been climbing annoyingly high the last few days (~71.2°). I've got something I'm gonna try to get it back down. :)

Killa idea with the hose intake!
I have the same pumps. Unfortunately my ac is on the other side of the house. And it's winter here now anyway :P
Those piston driven pumps are noisy suckers and they run hot. But can't beat the price. I use two 50lph piston (rated, probably a lie) (one for each 5gal bucket) two diaphragm backups. 10lpm each. With a output bubbling my 60L storage tank to remove chlorine before using.
I've been noticing if you only run one stone through the 4mm hose it limits the output substantially . The 4mm just can't pass the air. No matter the size of the stone. I may be wrong

Definitely hot and noisy! I wouldn't want it in the grow tent producing all that extra heat. The intake hose cuts the noise down a bit though.

You may be right about the 4mm hose restricting the air. I've got 4 lines running into the external res and 2 more going to the root zone. Seems to be working well. Crazy amount of bubbles in both.

There's no set time. But there's is a limit to how much you can do at one time before stressing the plant and losing valuable stretch (first few weeks of flower). I would give it a day atleast to settle to the new lighting time. Then defoliate anything blocking lowers like those big fellas on top. There's no set rule for how to defoliate (within reason ) so I defoliate the highest leaves as they are on the highest future budsites. This allow the lower ones to catchup level
Do you mind if I share a pic of one of my dwc plants ATM ?

Start defoliating now. Little by little. If you had preflowers before flipping youll see bud sites start in about 10 days... and youll want to defoliate real slow after that so as not to stress the plant too much and stall her.

Thanks for the correction :) I've been reading up on it alot lately. And most people defoliate a little all way through. But do most of it a few weeks before flower and a few weeks after. Anytime before or after that 4-6wk window isn't preferred.
That will be how I do it next run. Although things don't always go to plan for me :P so it will be dependant on all the other factors I'm still learning also. I'm just glad someone else is here to proof read for me. Otherwise I could give out wrong info and nobody wants that

Here's my current grow. No where near as dialled as yours is. Mine are in there own 5gal bucket each. With a air pump each. I don't check pH until topping up. And I don't change the res at all. I also don't use my TDs meter except after topping up to see how it has fed in comparison to it's mate.
Both are revegged plants. As I wanted to clone the right side phenotype. Took about 3 wks so I left the sweet tooth there also. (glad I did) It's sweet tooth (left) peyote critical (right) as you have read I haven't been to attentive. Except for with pests and humidity. There's two hempys of different strains in front of these guys. I'm switching to hempys next due to the less worry of cyanobacteria (worst type of root rot) I get in my location.
Sorry bout the not so good piccy. Was hard getting the light right under the two different spectrum lights

3 days after the flip. So far the growth rate seems about the same. I'm thinking about just letting it be until the end of week 3, except for the weekly flush, and then doing a thorough defoliation. Don't want to risk shocking it during the stretch.

Looking good. I like to defoliate a week before flip, a week after the flip and about 2 weeks after that. I've found that if they are healthy going into flower they dont blink an eye even after stripping them down good. Just be sure to do this the first few weeks of flower.

Looking good man. I just harvested what looks like 10ounces of my own home grown. It's a good feeling

Started pumping AC'd air into the res 2 hours ago. Water temp is already down from 71.7 to 68.5.

How did you hook air con up to air pump
So the hole at back of that pump. Sucks tge air hey. Might get one an do the same sit the inlet hose on the fins of my portable air con thanks for the idea.

Nice grow u got all the gear.

Thanks! Yeah, the pump has a connection for the inlet hose. Just plugged it in and it was good to go.

5 days post flip and little premonitions of flowers are already starting to form...

20190812_220403.jpg

I did a flush last night, adding Armor Si to the mix, because why not. One thing I didn't do that I'll do next time is get the water temp down before I pump it into the root zone. Water out of the tap is 77f. It took about 8 hours for the chiller / AC pump to get the temp down to 68. Growth was much slower than normal the last 24 hrs and I'm guessing the temp swing is to blame.

On another note, looking at the plant yesterday I was curious to see how the hell it could possibly go from what it looks like now to having big fat colas in a couple months. Googling "bud formation time lapse" made the imminent transformation seem a little more plausible.

Looks good man. When did you flip to 12/12?
