If ever there was cause for soul searching...

The Democrats here have absolutely underscored the truth of Chris Hedges' central thesis; that America is a failed state and a dying empire. The only way back from the abyss is to embrace the original supremacy of the voting citizen as driver of political power and policy.

I'm afraid I don't see it happening, although I fervently hope and will work hard to prove myself wrong.

The Democrats have figured out that coronations don't work so there's a large field of candidates shaping up. If someone can show they're a better option than Bernie, I and millions of other Sanders supporters will vote for them. Why do I feel confident in that assessment? Because it was never about Bernie, it was about what he stands for- even Bernie said so.

The notion that it's a binary choice is false and deliberately misleading.

It serves as a cover for ignoring the will of the voting public and both parties have gotten away with it for far too long. If it continues it will mean the end of us.

The new Left is coming. Lead, follow or get out of the way.

If you had a shred of intelligence you would realize that it did. The goal was never to elect Bernie, it was to elect Trump by weakening his opposition. It's still working every day with Tty and Padawan's every post. About twenty percent of yours too, the other 80% of your posts are just stupid or self-serving.

Lol, you speak for yourself and two other people, both of which have shown that they suffer from same sort of self-centeredness, dogma, gullibility and intellectual dishonestly. You will have no impact on future elections no matter how much you try to lay claim to ideological turf to suit your need for attention.
 
No matter how it’s spun, a vote for the outlier candidate is typically a vote for the shittier front runner as history proves. The outlier candidate takes the moderate vote away from the otherwise better choice of who will win. Is this right? No but it’s how it works.....well here anyways. Things seem a tad more “complicated” south of here, but I’m pretty sure the concept is the same. I bite the bullet and vote for the better of the two front runners, yes I feel dirty but not stupid lol.
