Having your shit stolen truly sucks. What sucks more is going to jail for shooting someone that was stealing your shit. Give it some thought.

I have mine sitting in the open window overlooking my garden. Not only does it scare me when they go off in the middle of the night, but they will also scare any thief long before they can get to my plants. got Ripped last year so I built a completely enclosed structure of chain link fencing, even the top is covered. only way in is a locked gate that i pile 3 heavy garbage cans, bunch of wood and my unused wire cages every night up against the gate. takes my a few minutes to get into my plants every morning but well worth the extra effort. also the alarms go off when you get 20ft within my cage in any direction giving my plenty of time to respond.

I don't know what your local laws are on self defense, however shooting at common trespassers will get you in a lot of trouble in many places..(except Texas) as noted. and if by shooting at them, they feared for their lives, they have the right to use deadly force to defend themselves...

No...trespassing is not enough to qualify as a threat to your life. Or 1000 neighbor kids retrieving a ball would be dead meat every baseball season...but getting shot at, does qualify as a threat to your life....

I wouldn't just blow some poor guy away for being in my yard but if he had something in his hands and comin towards me then I feel he is fair game but I know then it's going to end up to the decision of a jury of my peers which could go any which way.
