Why is it so hard for you to help some stoner out. Isn't that good Karma. In my opinion Sunbiz1 I find your response very arrogant and ignorant. You don't always get the answer you need from google and people bragging about ther grow operation is usually a red flag. I am legal here in Wa. state so I don't have that worry. You never tell anyone you grow, isn't that one of the first rule's of growing? I am new and had a question about dried ice and some dude named schtrudel helped me out. He was incredibly informantive yet to the point and very respectful. I am sure this isn't the first time he answered this question and not the last. He understood the physics behind it and was able to transfer that info to an average joe that has no idea about co2. I am sure in a couple of more years if I continue to grow I will do the same for a newbie without being an asshole.
 
Wheels that's the worst a tooth ache...I need to get to the tooth bondo guy soon too...this thread has made me think I don't do enough for others...so when I get my income tax...I'm going to post a thread the broke asses guide to soil...<---because I'm strapped for cash myself...

Maybe everybody was spending too much time together on the forum board and they all got on the same cycle.
 
That's just the way it's been for a while.
The whole time I've been here it's been like that. There's just a ton of trolls.

You try to tell someone,
"Your leaves are yellow because of Nitrogen"
Or
"Police aren't retards"

And they want to tell you you're guessing.

Then when you ask questions in TnT unrelated to MJ, or even related to MJ...
Some people try to answer, but there are tons of people here just constantly not answering, but telling you that what you are asking is stupid, and that you're stupid, and that you don't make any sense.
Instead of just answering,
Or reading the random idea, and at least TRYING to follow it...

It's just bored people on the internet.
 
I read a lot of books and magazines and did searches on the internet to get myself pointed in the right direction. I got everything sourced and put together but still had a few questions. I think I searched a question about how soon to start adding nutes after seed sprouted. That search pointed me to Rollitup.org. Jackpot!

I read so many threads and had so many questions answered before I knew to ask them. I think it was about 3 weeks later that I actually joined as a member.

I think I've got my own shit down pretty good now but not to that point that I could offer advice without getting ridicule for it too. So I just hang out in the Talk-n-Toke forums to see what the other stoners out there are talking about.

I joined in 09' and I don't have a high post count either. So does that make me some kind of a troll or lesser class of memeber here? I'm a middle aged man with lots of things going on in my life so I don't have time to start threads and post for hours on end.

So, I don't post in the grow forums and I only post once in a while here. Is this not cool? Really, I just want to see what's on the minds of other stoners out there once in a while.
 
I can see how it would make people paranoid. Like you're just trying to blend in but you're watching the threads kind of paranoia. I'm a little more paranoid at the moment than I normally am, though, so that may have not even crossed anyone's mind but mine. Until now anyway. Unless they were already thinking it. I was.

its not even that they are too stupid or dumb. the riu threads were a pain in the ass for me to figure out when i was a complete newb. they arent very newb friendly. with the searches needing pauses or breaks in between and the threads not always being set up or labeled right or the thread has 49 pages of shit that i honestly dont always feel like reading thru becuz its a lot of people just chiming in to get the post counts up.

yeah the antibiotics are kicking in and the throbbing has stopped/ but its still swollen and just sore as fuck. hard to eat and shit still. been rockin mashed potatoes brown gravy and homemade biscuits. :)
 
do what you enjoy.

if you dont enjoy helping newbs, dont do it.

there is always someone willing to teach (and even a few capable lol)

if answering newb q´s is boring you or irritating you, dont do it.

i only answer threads when i feel like it

and if i dont feel like i could give an adequate answer, i wait for someone better suited for the job to come along.. (as in, i know damn well some other people on the site could do a far better job at it ;))

only if i come back the next time and it hasnt been answered and a answer is required fast, do i comment on something i dont really feel 100% qualified to answer.

as in if it were a hydro question or something (which i dont have any experience in)

then i might comment about what ive heard trusted sources say. (if i absolutely had to (the peeps getting desperate for an answer))

but with this as in all else

I agree, that RIU is not newb friendly. Though I feel that weeds out (pun intended) real RIU members from the others who ask a newb question and bail out.

If you want to grow a plant successfully, TAKE THE TIME TO RESEARCH AND SPEAK TO PPL.. because regardless you will have to TAKE THE TIME TO WAIT FOR THE PLANT TO FINISH BLOOMING.


The people who ask what their PH should BE are the SAME PPL who ask if it is RDY TO HARVEST @ 54 days from 12/12 flip..

If they took the time to hang around and actually take notes (write stuff down) they would not be treated so poorly. Even my 1st few weeks on RIU I was chatting it up meeting ppl.. Not asking Newb Q after Q.

Well rawbud aint u the shit. Why do u adults get so uptight when you hear a question more than once. Obviously none of you have owned your own busines and had employees. I was a framer(I built custom homes) for 30 years and I have trained and taught 100 people how to build houses. You can go to school for 4 years or you can work for me and I will show you how to build a house, big ones too. I just finished a remodel on Ray Allen's house(Boston Celtics) and I have built houses for Ken Griffey Jr., Jay Buhner, Matt Hasslebeck, Kenney Easley, Kevin Durant,Detlef Schrempf, Shaun Alexander and many more. If I responded like some of the Vets on this site, nobody would ever learn anything and these people wouldn't hire me. You have to be patient, regardless. I understand that ther are a lot of jerks(trolls) out ther that try your patience, but your an adult you better than that. Don't be shallow and selfish when you have so much knowledge to share. Also, not everything is cut and dried, I am 42. I just learned how to type(hunt and peck) 3years ago and I am still learning how to search the internet. Am I stupid? No. I worked outside all my life, I never needed a computer.

So be good to people, you never know who you'll meet and it's Good Karma

in all honesty i was schooled in the ways of the weed from a few friends before i started growing. some people just learn from constant questions being asked. others not so much. some people have a hard time relaxing and reading and reading and reading. so its hard for them to learn unless they ask.
