Well that is what I'm hoping for and how will you tell if it has the THCV ?

I know THC and THCA and CBD but to be honest I'm not sure if I've heard of THCV so any information would be greatly appreciated

I really love African strains because a lot of them have this really unique sativa high with no anxiety. I don't get paranoid or anxious on cannabis anymore, but I certainly did when I first started. But, some of these have a really strong anti-anxiety aspect to them. Swami's Nigerian Sunshine, which I want to grow next year, is supposed to reliably have this effect. Also, these same African strains are also known to be high in THCV, but no one really knows if that is the reason for the anti-anxiety effects, or if it's the unique terpenes that these strains also have (like Ocimene), or a combination of both and other things we don't even know about. I'm hoping that I get that great African landrace feeling from these, and if I really like them and they have that feeling, I might be tempted to send in a sample to get tested. I've been collecting a lot of African landraces this year, but it's hard to do more than one or two plants at a time because they want to grow into giants.

When it comes to African strains I'd have to say Durban Poison you might want to check into it and that is to funny I was just watching Strain Hunters Africa last night

Nice, I'll have to check that episode out. I do like Durban Poison, I have some SSSC Durban I think, and I want to pick up Hazeman's Durban F2s, they sound more like a dutchified Durban like the SSSC than landrace, but I like both types of Durban. The good ones all have that same unique flavor. I also like the Transkei and Swazi landraces, really special plants throughout that entire region. I think Durban can be high in THCV too, but I'm not certain about that.

I'm not saying that DP is a landrace I'm not sure about that but South Africa is where I first tried it lol and the show was about saving the landrace that are being pushed out now that they can grow legally it is like a 3 or 4 parter

I'm running akbeanbrains columbian gold/panama red x a5nl5hz f-2 that I got as a freebie. It's got a great sativa high but relaxed and no anxiety, lots of resin, easy to trim stocky plants and chunky buds. It really checks all the boxes for me. I really want to try his cgpr x tknl5hz. Anyway just throwing that out there. that cgpr is something that I'd really like to play around with some more.

I love AKBB's gear, I probably have the most packs from AKBB, then maybe Hazeman, Ace, then Swami, then a million randos lol. I love Colombian Gold and Panama Red both. I have a bunch of PR lines from different sources, it's a good medical strain for inflammation/pain. The Colombian high is one of my favorites too, soaring/uplifting but also warm, like the Himalayan charas sativas. One reason I love Ohaze is because you can find all these different phenos that favor the Colombian or the Thai side more, so there is a grab bag of effects in one strain. If you like Colombian, check out Proseeds (uk seed bank), Madmac's Ohaze repro leans towards the Colombian AND they still have Cryptic Labs Santa Marta Gold in, last time I checked. I picked up a pack of Cryptic Papua New Guinea, which I expect will be absolutely crazy in a tent. I also preordered a pack of Colombian Gold from Snow High early this year and those should be ready soon.
I've been putting a lot of thought into my next grow, and one pack of AKBB's that I have and want to pop is the Big Fuck x NL1-that's Bakersfield's selection of the tknl5hz that there are some nice pics of in the AKBB thread, earlier on. But, I've decided to save it for after I do my Ohaze/THH project and have good males/females.

I want to be a strain hunter! How hard can it be, honestly? I might be able to convince myself save up for a "vacation" if I collect seeds at the same time. Hard to pick a spot to go though! I'd love to visit India and visit Manipur and the Himalayan Indian states, like Sikkim or Ladakh. I'm not brave enough to go to Pakistan, but those Himalayan valleys in Pakistan like Hopar Valley are beautiful. I like ganja more than hashplants in general, so I'd probably pick a location based on that. Going to Africa would be cool too, but where to even start? Pick a place on a map of Africa and it basically has good weed.

Speaking of African strains, here are the two phenos of Palmera (congo ibl):
This short flowering pheno looks like it should take around 12 weeks. This is the biggest plant in my tent and got closest to the light with very little damage to it, while other plants got some bleaching even further away.
The lux at this leaf measured almost 90k and it seems like the light triggered this anthocyanin response to protect it from bleaching. I now have most of the canopy around 50-55k. I love finishing at a lower intensity, either it's helping preserve my terps or I just have some terpy plants this cycle.
Pheno #2, definitely has more "landracey" buds and giant stigmas. Both are equally beefy plants. Pheno #2's terpenes are changing towards the end, it's more "fresh and fruity" with higher notes in the fruit, if that makes sense. Pheno #1 is more fermented fruit with myrcene, not surprising coming from a purple plant. It's getting more purple every day. With these two widely differing phenos, I feel like I have a good chance at a THCV plant, and I will definitely pop the rest of these to see what other interesting expressions are lurking.

This may interest you somewhat regarding some African bits.
The kariba sounds very interesting and who doesn’t like frankincense.
These are some of connoisseur genetics newer crosses.
I ended up grabbing a couple of packs of African chocolate

That all sounds awesome, I love the grail project genetics. I've collected seeds when I found them, like Bushweed's Mullumbimby Madness x NH21 and Oaxacan crosses. I've never had the Kariba before, I would love to see all of those grown out.

I’d been eying up the MM X NH21 from bushman but was unavailable when I checked most recently.
Like most of us, I’ve far too many seeds and still can’t say no to something when I see it haha.

Oh gosh, there is ALWAYS another strain I'm tracking down, or some random thing I find. Like today, I saw an email from a few days ago about a Doc D drop at GLG. I thought Doc retired, so I was curious and checked it out, and most of the stuff I would have loved to pick up, like the Nigerian Rafiki, had all sold out fast. But they did have his Lemon Thai F5s, so I picked up a pack of those for $50. I'm so stoked I found them because it's not a 1:1 repro like the Blackbird Preservations repro I was talking about earlier, Doc actually selected 7 or 8 of each males/females. Then I saw, if you buy 2 you get to pick a pack for a freebie, and one of the freebies was Mullumbimby/Oaxacan x Sensi Star f2...right up my alley of course. Never ending I tell you!
