Asked for a quote as well, I have to buy 280 strips but it looks like they may honor the $1.34 price. If they do, it'll take up to 6 weeks for them to get them before shipping to me. If it goes through I'll post back here if anyone wants to scoop some of them. Otherwise me and my homie will build a cpl lights and sell em to some local chumps hahaha.

100 is an awful lot for veg and supplemental lighting, if you ran them soft like i do that would still be 1600ish watts and like 2500+ if you ran them hard.

Im no light temperature expert but im sure 4k will still produce some fine flowers.
that was my next question .... how many watts is running them soft per strip ? (my quick dumb math says 16 watts max per strip?)
hold up ....whats the max per board...in watts ? your running them soft and using no heatsink ?thank you

yes i have flowered with MH bulbs before and it was just fine....nothing the naked eye cared about. i think mh bulbs are closer to 4500k or higher. i cant recall. either way i can use them for flower im positive on that but ill prolly use a bunch for veg to replace corn cob bulb leds im using.

I'm going to have to keep a closer eye on this LED sub-forum lol. Gems! I went ahead and ordered a 250 of the 4000k. I got a friend who wants a bunch, I'll build a couple beastly veg lights and then sell the rest to other friends who might want them. Figure fck it, why not, they're so cheap... it's like 90-95% cheaper than anywhere else I can find those same strips.
I like your enthusiasm but keep in mind the strips are only a fraction of the cost. Like the 500watt build guide i linked uses 24 strips in parallell, the driver for that is $127, then the wire, plugs, connectors ect. Aluminum for the frame and heatsink if you run hard. You'd spend well over $1000 just in drivers for 250 strips.

so we know one driver will run 24 strips and that will cover a 4x4...... yea thats still dirt cheap. im gonna grab 100 4k's before they run out of them too...

For sure, but for instance my spider farmers were $1000 for a total of ~630 watts if I'm lucky lol. I have the capital to be able to build the lights, if I choose to, or I might just sell the strips... regardless I'll find a use for them or they'll go to someone who will be stoked to save a buck haha.

Yes it all depends on your space and how you want to do it. For me because of a changing space between veg and flower i made mine as each a seperate light for a 2x2 area with its each its own driver. Was signifigantly more expensive as i used four $55 drivers for a 4x4 instead of one $127 driver and 36 strips instead of 24. I have 600 watts in that 4x4 tho not 500.

I run mine as constant current at 700ma and after 12 hours of running they are warm but not hot to the touch, i wouldnt be uncomfortable resting my balls on them, haha. I know from the discussions in 2017 when i built them that others were running them 1050ma and they commented how they got hot and needed aluminum backing for a heatsink. I dont feel comfortable offering advice on the driver and current choices because i myself needed help with that part but between ledgardener site and this site you should be able to find the answers you need.

I think im going to do these a little different than my other lights tho because i dont need the more modular way, i will likely wire these ones parallell.

This is the exact boat I find myself in, but I think the meanwell xlg series drivers offer a wide range of affordable options to power these sale strips that keep popping up. $35 for something like the xlg-150 and keeping the strips running to where they need little to no heatsink seems to be the ticket for a cheap build. I didn't buy any of these strips, but probably would have if I didn't just buy 8 more of the f-series double strips on the last price drop. I've got 16 of those to deal with before I buy much of anything else.

I'm a dummy in all of this and have found myself jumping on "deals" without even having the space to build anything at the moment, so take what I say from a place of purely reading/trying to interpret datasheets instead of actual experience with it all.

Im guilty of that too, I was originally searching for dual purpose veg/flower lights for a 2x4 space but with the deal i ordered 54 strips instead of the 18 i might need. I just cant see them ever being cheaper and i know ill make use of them eventually.

For sure, I wish I understood it all a bit more clearly, but I'm slowly coming around. Yea, the deals they've been running on the lm561c diode strips has been nice and I hope to see some nice builds around.

Personally, from a learning and understanding perspective vs just copying someone elses build, i found the ledgardener.com site to be very good. For understanding drivers, constant current vs constant voltage drivers, series vs parallell wiring, A vs B dimming, what the different numbers mean they have videos in the fundamentals section that i found it very easy to understand. They also have many builds in the diy builds section including a number of builds using these strips in different sizes and configurations. You should check it out if you want to understand it more.

About to order these. Can't find it on the website, these are the 2' strips right?

Would you order all 3k for a flowering-only tent? Do you think extra red strips would be needed or just the 4k? Right now I've got a mars hydro TS2000W (280W from the wall).

**EDIT: NVM, only the 4k in stock right now will watch for the next one of these.
