Satori Comparison Grow - Organic vs. Soilless/Synthetic

Nice journal. I've grown in nothing but soil and said fuck ph from day 1 and never had issues long as I used dolomite lime. I love simple organics with basic ewc bsm tea. Im sure AN will win yield wise but organics will destroy AN or hydro in everything else. Smell taste smokeability terps diesese resistant ect. Comes down to what matters most to person growing. Yield or quality.

Also I think your cheating your self a bit by not feeding your microbes in organic with atleast blaxkstrap mollasses and even better a simple EWC tea. You'd notice a significant difference if u brewed up a gallon of ACT and watered with that. Obv not necessary but makes noticable difference. Expecially in taste smell and disease resistance. Simple $10 20-60 gal aquarium pump and $6 airstones will brew 1-2 gal of ACT. I nevet measure but ratio I measured one time to eyeball how much it was is. 6.5 tb. EWC and 4 tsp bsm for 1 gal water brewed for 36-48hrs will produce more than enough minions to supply food to ur girls. Just my opinion and advice.

I watered the plants last night.

I noticed the slightest hint of nute burn on the AN plant. So I took AN's advice and gave it just plain water (and lots of it) this watering. No nutes. I had been feeding at 100% suggested nute strength every watering.

The organic plant shows no signs of stress.

For the remainder of flowering, I'll post pics at the end of each week. Tomorrow is the end of week 2, so I'll post a pic tomorrow night.

Day 79 Update (day 15 of flowering)

Here's a pic taken a few minutes ago, just before the light came on. I apologize for the poor quality pic. I'll get better lighting in my pics from now on.

The AN plant is on the left.

Day 86 Update (day 22 of flowering)

Here's a pic taken tonight. It's kinda washed out due to HPS lights. The AN plant is on the left.

I'll post more pics tonight.

The AN plant is significantly bigger than the organic plant, in terms of height and stem thickness. But the organic plant is doing very well.

I spent a few minutes today sampling the bud aromas of the two plants. I also compared stickiness between my fingers after touching a couple fan leaves from each plant.

The plants have similarly strong bud aromas, with the organic plant maybe slightly stronger. The AN plant won the comparison of stickiness and aroma from my fingers after I touched a couple fan leaves on each plant.

A lot of people say that organic bud tastes better than non-organic bud. I can't really say, as I've never liked the taste or smell of burning marijuana. I only smoke it for the feeling. Although I absolutely love the skunky smell of flowering marijuana.

Your thread is really making me consider upping my container size. I, too, use AN pH perfect Connoisseur, but I grow in 2 liters. Now, your plant is not 8x as big as mine (5 gallons is roughly 8x as big as 2 liters), but they are at least 4x the size. I have a plant # limit in my state and unfortunately also a size limitation in my grow room, but honestly 5 gallon pots aren't that big and even if I have to 1/2 the # of plants so that they can fit, it looks like the yield will more than make up for it... Hmmm..

The AN VooDoo juice that I use in both early veg and early flowering is a root growth enhancer, and the roots of the AN plant exploded to fill the 5-gallon smart pot pretty fast.
