Satori Seed Grow by Rocky Mountain High

Well I've decided to start a second grow journal to follow the Satori seeds I just recieved from Dr. Chronic.

I ordered on 12/10, shipped on 12/11, arrived on 12/27, so 16 days total including the holiday rush and weekends. Not too bad IMHO.

So far I have only grown bag seed so I'm very excited about growing a strain that I specifically researched and decided on. My first glimpse was in the High Times top 10 strains of 2007. After reading about the high, with no ceiling, keep smoking and you will keep soaring, and the cerebral/creative high that I've read about but never experienced.

I have never been able to afford the 'good stuff', so I smoke $60 ounces of 'dirt'. Once in awhile I'm able to afford some 'kind bud', but that's about it. I've never smoked anything that actually had a specific name.

So now I'm growing my strain of choice and couldn't be more excited!

I placed the 4 of the seeds into paper towels lastnight around 6pm and moistened them with PH balanced water, 6.5. I guess it's the Satori seeds, but I'm very nervous about even germinating them, even though I believe I have a pretty good handle on growing.

Speaking of a good handle on growing, I'd like to thank everyone who has given advice, criticism and props on the other journal (which I will continue and finish with the plants I have going) I truly appreciate it. Mattso, Your Grandfather, Tahoe and so many others who have helped me along the way, THIS GROW'S FOR YOU!

So here is a picture of the packaging and the seeds getting ready for germination. I will post next when they 'crack', hopefully very soon.

Thanks again everyone here on RIU, this is a very tightly knit, if you will, community and I've learned far more here than in all the books and magazines I've read.

Wish Me good luck on the Satori Seeds!

Hell Yeah!!! I am excited to see this one. I really like the reasoning behind the pick of your seeds......and possibly will be the ones I get if I ever buy some. I have a lot from unknown sources that I will have to test first.

Good Luck

We are all sending out positive vibes that will help you not only get out of the germination stage with some kick-ass land sperm, but also a crop of wonderful plants.

We'll be watching

sgtpeppr,

Man thanks a ton for stopping by and I'll take all the positive waves I can get on this grow.

I'm really looking forward to this journal as the last was started more than half way through and obviously this one will be followed from seed to weed!!

You will like how quickly Satori grows. The best way to germinate them is putting them directly into the medium you plan on growing with. I have a Satori and Mango grow and the Satori is beating the socks off the Mango.

Crazy, thanks a lot man, I appreciate it!

godspeed, thanks I appreciate that. I thought about doing the germination that way, but I've had success with paper towel, so I'm going with what I know. I have to admit I'm still nervous about these seeds.

do you have a journal, and how far are you on the Satori and Mango? I'd love to see the Satori from the start.

Thanks again guys

You are right on the money, germinate which ever way works for you. I use papertowels also for some seeds. If you are growing in soil be very light handed with the nutes; Satori doesnt take much more than good quality soil to grow. They are 5 days old now, I will put up some pics for you tonight. Check out SnowWhites grow journal he has on Satori; very good job!!

Well, nothing on the satori seeds yet. I'm already screwing up my 'tried & trued' method. I didn't put them in the freezer for 24hrs, I didn't soak them in a cup of water for 24hrs, I skipped right to putting them into the paper towels. Hope this nervousness doesn't screw up my grow. Then I read on the Mandala site about how NEVER ever to use the paper towel method with their seeds, sigh, oh well, I think I'll be fine, if not I still have 6 seeds left.

24 hours down, and what like 17 weeks to go?? I figure 3 in seedling, 4 in veggy, and 10-12 in flowering. Whew, I guess it begins with a single step.

Dammit one of them needs to crack already!!

Just jokin. I'm patient, kinda.......

HOOAH!! and the grow begins, that's an interesting germ method your used to, I have never heard of that thnaks for sharing will try that method sometime, I use the paper towel method and seems to work well, 18 out of twenty cracked however only ten sprung from soil, perhaps I have greater success with your method...

As requested .. Good luck on the Satori Seeds!

Soaking your seeds or using paper towels became "procedure" because alot of times seeds have been sitting around for a while and need it in order to encourage germination. Just like any other seed, if they are relatively fresh, just plant them in your medium; you will be surprised how quickly they do germinate. Old seeds need to be soaked. Just my 2 cents.

godspeed,

Yep I'm tending to agree with you brother. It's been 36 hrs and they haven't cracked yet, now I know that make me sound like 'crack head' but my old bagseeds would germinate within 18-24hrs. Bottom line I may have screwed up, but, it might not be too late, I hope. I may go ahead, after your advice and of course reading the Mandala seed sites suggestions (thanks for that), and put them into my rooting cubes or soil, or maybe 2-2.

Damn it!

Here's an update from my impatient azz.

I checked the seeds at 6am, 36 hours to the mark from being put into towels. Nothing so I came here for some advice.

I decided to go ahead and take 2 of the 4 seeds and put them into soil, as Mandala seeds suggests, I got 2 cups all ready and prepared then took out the seeds.

At 2:30 low and behold, 3 of the four had barely 'cracked' or had begun to crack I suppose. So I took 2 and planted them and placed the other two back in the towels. I guess it will now be an experiment as to which two do better and which turn out to males and females.

So the other 2 satori seeds cracked this morning. I put them into their root cubes. Will be interesting to see how these two do as opposed to the two I put directly into soil.

Couple pics of the cracked seeds and their new home!
