Coco/perlite, compost (dairy cow), medium measuring around 725-731 PPMs seeds just transplanted from paper towel to medium, so just distilled water and no food until the PPMs drop?

I followed some directions on mixing soil, very minute amount though 10 lb bag in 2.5 cf of coco and .3 cubic ft of perliteWhy did you mix coco with compost?
730 is kind of high I take it?Why did you mix coco with compost?
Bing VideosWhy did you mix coco with compost?
Beat me to it lol.Why did you mix coco with compost?
Getting mixed results out here about adding a small bit of compost, but definitely high with 730 PPM.Why did you mix coco with compost?
Well they said put 1:1 ratio of medium to water let it sit for a while then measure with a TDS meter, it sure gives a reading when I do itYou can't measure the ppms of organic material..
It's not accurate.. TDS is for salt based nutes.. Organics is not Total Disolved Soilds, they have to be broken down to become available to the plant..Well they said put 1:1 ratio of medium to water let it sit for a while then measure with a TDS meter, it sure gives a reading when I do it
So I should just test the ph of the medium? the coco and perlite are suppose to be neutral PH, and I have a small amount of compost, I want to know if I should feed on my first water, that's really my root question lol. It's not accurate.. PH meter reads a hair below 7.It's not accurate.. TDS is for salt based nutes.. Organics is not Total Disolved Soilds, they have to be broken down to become available to the plant..
haven't even popped up yet just tiny little tap roots yesterday.I would go with PH'd water see how they do..
What ec do you start at?when i start a seed in coco i give it fertilizer 24/7 even when its a seed.

So the bag on the compost says between 6-8 PH and the coco/perlite is neutral, so a PH of roughly 7 is too hot?, I was told by someone else you can't measure the PPMs of organic material, so all I can do is measure the PH, but I should be able to measure the PPMs from the runoff right? This is only my 2nd grow first one was stunted and only produced a single bud lol, and yes I smoked it anyway lol.Kind of hard to follow but best advice is if they just popped you have the opportunity to sow them in some plain potting soil. Save the stuff you made for flower. It sounds too hot for a seedling.
You want to pH the water you are using to water. Ph 6.3-6.5
No sense planting those fresh cracked seeds into some hot mix, it won't go well.
Plant seed into plain potting soil. Do not give nutrients until you see the lowest leaves start to yellow, probably about 10 days after the plant breaks ground. Then water in 500ppm of veg nutrient. Easy peasy.
