:cuss:so i have been trying to germ these batch of blue cheese seeds done the same thing i have always done >soaked in water 24 Hr -48hr
>put in pappar towl checked every 12hr to check moisture
>3-5 days nothing
the seeds are huge but they don't seem to want to germ this is the theird time now trying to get them to pop i heard using GA3 or Gibberellic acid would work because it's a plant growth hormone by buy some if these next seeds don't germ realy bummed

They can take over a week. Just keep up on the moisture like your doing. I've heard you can take sand paper and scuff the side to help it open but not sure if you can do it after it's been soaked. Someone who has done it will probably tell you.

I'd hate to think they were dead embryos buddy, but what I do in these situations is scuff the seed lightly with a fine grit sand paper..maybe line a small matchbox and shake a lil bit...it might help...add a spot of 3% hydrogen peroxide to your soak...if nothing else its good preventitive measure

none of them at all throwing a taproot out ? also when you put in water for 24-48 hours did the seeds sink to bottom b4 you put in paper towels i put seeds in water until i can poke them and they sink to bottom i would try the scuffing method as mentioned and put back into water and see if they float or sink if they float then try again but if they sink straight away then the shell is compromised so put back into paper towells keep warm and moist

They floated until after 24hr then when i poked them the sank to the bottom, thats when i left them for a nother 24 hrs making it 48 hrs and still no tap root. Then i put hem in papper towl and then nothing tried scuffing still nothing even tried soaking in a water superthive mix but still nothing thanks fo the replys

i would say to put back in paper towels or just put em in some dirt and give em a week mate it sounds a bit dodgy thou that none have popped what conditions are you leaving the paper towels in ? dark warm ?

I had some seeds do that to me before and just when I was about to give up and toss em they popped. I'm talking a good 2 weeks. Then they grew fine.

Give them time, are they some where warm

Soaking in water stops gas exchange from occuring, which isn't ideal.
I always throw my seeds right in the medium as if nature blew them there. Works for me.
I'm in the camp if " start them in their medium." That way they're not disadvantaged from the start.

Every day that you set the seedling back is like 1% of it's total life span. Every day counts too...

SANY0028.JPG i soaked 5 seeds for 24 hours in water when they sank i put straight into the soil plugs and that was yesterday today they are already starting to pop through i normally use paper towells but had a couple fuck up when transfering them over but normally get 100 percent rate sum times 99
keep them warm and dark in a plastic tub with a platic lid covering when they are all open and standing up i will put under a cfl

If after 3 days the seed shell hasnt split then either the seeds are bad or your making some errors. I soak seeds before planting and never not had a seed shell split after 48hours. The paper towel method is more hassle than its worth, soak and plant them or better still just plant them and dont try to play mother nature. Paper towel method is the slowest for me, when i get root hairs i like them to be in the final pot not a paper towel as too easy to damage and stall them.

Still nothing guys and the seed bank i got them from has a disclamer about customs and germination it not there falt and so on so, i can't even ask them about the germination rate bummed
