Seeking advice from experienced growers for grow room

So, i plan on leaving the military in a few months and i have been putting together a list to start a grow room. Im confident that the equipment ive chosen will work great. But i would like an experienced opinion.

Should i get a larger light, or smaller when taking heat into account? (Only going to grow up to 5 or 6 plants with 400w mh/hps)

Will this tent perhaps be to small for a 400w hps?http://growershouse.com/dark-street-ii-ds120-48-x-48-x-72

Also, is this enough fan power to cool my tent:

Am i good to go with what ive chosen or should i reconsider some things?

Thanks!

If I was you I would get a better ballast something like a Lucius Maximus 400W Digital Ballast
As I have 15 of them they are very quite and you can get them at a good price
I would use 2x400 hps in a 4x4 tent. And as for the fans I would go with a 8 inch with a filter and 6 inch to push the air in to the room
Just make sure you buy good quality gear because it will come back and bit you on the ass
hope that helps

Get LEDs if heat is an issue and you still want good bud. Which I'n guessing you do. If you've got money saved up from deployment or BAH or whatever, get a choice one.

They are worth it. Take it from a fellow vet. Want a cheaper but still useful one? Go with MarsHydro, Galaxyhydro, or ViparSpectra. HID will always run hot and will add a hefty chunk to your electric bill. Also requires a dedicated circuit and special installation.

Congrats on the girl. Maybe if she's a badass, she'll be born on the 22nd. Terminal leave will be bittersweet. When they retired me, I hated it but I felt free at the same time.

Could you reccomend an led thats decent for a budget that could alone handle 6-8 plants from veg to flower?

That would be pretty badass, poimt taken. I was born on the 22nd, hence the badass part. Regarding 6-8 plants? Start with 2-3. Either way, unless you're SOGing in which case you can run 6-8 small plants, you will need more than one light of any kind. LED only uses 60% of its listed wattage and uses those watts to hugely efficient effect. I would recommend the MarsHydro 600 for a 3-4+ plant grow or a SOG if you're on a budget.

Right, which is why I was saying that's your better option on a budget. Some people--who have never used them--will try to tell you they don't work, and horror story this, and butthurt that, but I've seen grows under these and they do work, well enough for the hobbyist and smoker. Some say they don't flower, but I've seen them flower and they flower just fine as long as your seed genes are good.

Onyx leds from Rapid, they are great, have two of them for three years now,, big buds just like with hps with more thc crystals (i will post a pic here to prove) way less heat,(saves on electric and less cooling). Instead of closet being 86* its 78* with leds, never change a bulb (($100 a year savings) they paid for them selves on first grow, they are built for 15 years and are way cheeper tham alot of others Atl least check them out. If you want to see grow logs with them and great spec info, check out growkind.com and look for dxe led grow threads on them. He (dxe) has a great deal of first hand grow info on there to check out. I only use hps for a extra light in the winter for the garage. I get better quality and faster flower with leds. Oh and rapid uses great leds (cree 10v) and great drivers for them)

Make sure you get good ones, alot of lights out there that are crap. I can only speak for onyx by rapid. They use some of the best cree 10v leds on the market for a great price.

Oh and rapid has new light bars that dont have fans on them, they have heatsinks that run along the top. I am going to get a couple to put in a stealth cab grow. Check those out also Here is a link. They have different sizes.

http://www.rapidled.com/indus-10-by-rapid-led/

And also Rapid shows you all the light spectrum info also, the flower lights have all the red and blue, green type light spectrum in them, so it looks like a warn white light but those spectrums are in there...alot of companies Dont show spec graphs of their info, another reason rapid is a atraight up good deal. Right now I personally know 5 great top growers that use them and live them. Area 51 is another comoany that has good lights, there are pro's and cons between them but they both work real well growing budd.
