What is the diameter of your pots?

I'm using 1 1,000 GPH pump to water 9 plants in 2g pots to run off in about a minute and ten seconds.

I made DIY halos and I'm not really happy with their consistency. Switching to netafim halos after this grow is complete.

Not including the new halos I have less than $50 in this system.

5 and half “, just under 7” and 6”. So the 6” halos most people sell dont work. My halos for the problem plants are 3”. I was told 1/4” tubing would work for the way I made the halos. The 6” ones work just fine. I used my diy 3” halos before it seems to work on one plant but any more than that i start to lose significant pressure.

how tall is your reservoir? Have you checked to see the lift limit of your pumps?

The 100gph pump works for my space cabinet. The hole in the adapter is too big and most of pressure is lost through that and the kinks but it works for good enough to leave it be. I just need to get a adapter for hose or hang tight and hand feed by plugging in pumps and taking away run off from the cabinet by hand until I setup the 2x4.

The space cabinet will have the hose connect through the tent, near the bottom into the drain bucket. So far it is draining properly just holding the hose where I intend to put it through which will rest in that position. Probably just gonna use halo then toss it so it gets some use.

Damn, my timer somehow switched settings and so like one or two days no water and two 3 gal plants were bone dry. The other plants were covered because that timer was ok. Hope the leaves dont die out and bounce back. I must of bumped the switch or pressed it by mistake. Roots that popped out of pot look dead.

That calyx or sac looking think keeps looking wierder a day later, all white and stubby. What is it? Do you think my 3 gallon plants will bounce back or lose some leaves?

Today is a week since making solution, it was perfect but spoiled overnight and have to wait till tonight to refill.

So going to try adding pool shock and see if it can bounce back otherwise next time I ought to add the shock on day 6. I think I should be out of solution by now due to the timer ordeal but I did waste 5gal or so for whatever reason if recall correctly.

Man that had to of been like 3 days no water…. I hope no damage was done… Retracing steps and not looking good, probably 2 or 3 days no water.

Just checking with yall on something. So last time I had a monster 3 gallons vegged plant 60-90 days it needed to be fed twice a day, that is normal right? They say once a day in veg but I think I need to feed twice already. Starting be glad I got 55 gallon reservoir.

Bottom of pot is more dry than wet, chunks of coco dried out on top and coco not wet to the touch but damp. I am going to I just never saw or read up on that. My first clones and reveg, almost done revegging.

Do the leafs on biggest plant look like it needs another feed per day? Is it stressed from light being close? I just raised it. Leafs could look better but it did have that drought event the other day.

I think in three weeks at show of first pistols it will already have most the space filled out. If so that is good instead of 90 days but still interested in having more smaller plants to veg faster. Roots have filled out a lot of the pot already, the top surface is strapped down by roots already.

Going to take clones soon. Liking the kongs krush but the watermelon seems to be a wonky pheno and grows all messed up.

They need to be fed as much as it takes to keep the coco dampened and keep fresh oxygen pulling through. You can feed 5 times a day if your ppm/ec is dialed in. It's not uncommon at all to feed 2,3, 4 or 5 times a day.

Who is "They"? They is wrong. That contradicts well-known watering practices and common sense.
Coco should be kept moist at all times and not be allowed to dry back dramatically.
Watering frequency is dictated by plant size and pot volume. You can grow a monster plant in a one-gallon pot but it'll need a half-dozen or more watering cycles in a day.

One crucial rule for coco is to always water until runoff (10-20%) to keep EC from spiking. Use weight to determine when you need to water, not a schedule.

They also say never let it dry, I am just being a newb double checking that it is ok. Been a while since I had a plant this big. Once a day is normally ok at a minimum at first or so I thought.

Been a while since I did 60-90 days veg with photoperiod is what I meant to say, I did an auto last year in 3 gallon but was feeding twice a day by 30 days then eventually 5. So caught me by surprise that it needs two already.

As seedlings, yeah. I'm feeding these ladies twice a day, sometimes 3 times right now. Once I up pot, I think I'll go with 2 times u til they get settled and then bump to 3.

So emptying these out with a shop vac is a pita. I thought the spout on tanks would help but not supposed to move with water in them. So shop vac to get it out and just seems hard on the shop vac and a pita so thought of getting this as it has a head that faces the ground that works down to .8” and autoshut off.

Use that to pump out and then try tipping it to dump it or try the spout. The drain tub gettung slimey quick so I am just making concentrated doses of shock since it dont go to plants so it has stronger solution ridding the slime and smell.

Any other suggestions let me know. Pumping straight outside or in a basement drain is out of question. I already pump it outside but for a moment, not trying to fix it there but that would be the best. I just came across this and think it would help.

The solution making once a week is awesome, its all concentrated into one go instead of every 3 days or sooner.

Probably getting rid of the two clones, I harvested the plant it came from and just dont care for them. Cannot make any rosin and 10-15% thc. Not yield good dry sifting.

On bright side I can just make a large plant in a 2 gallon and run clones of the kongs krush if it makes good rosin. I guess I am on hunt to find rosin strains asap and just run those for a while.

Running a large plant like this takes a lot of canopy skills and on top of that I dont know exactly how it flowers. Thinking. of running 4 or 5 clones on each side or one side at a time and use the other side to run 4-5 plants of bean hunting, faster veg and ease of canopy training.

Also, the veg tent is playing games getting here so just overnighting another one and setting up.

I see all the issues now and how far I am from getting set up to my liking. 4 plants each side would be 1.25’ squared for each plant. I guess make 5 nodes. and let it branch out some. Flip on week 5 ish when pistols show.

Now what to do with veg tent.. I could have 4 plants in there which wont be very symmetric. I air layer two mothers to make 4 clones or one mother, 8 clones.

Chop and flip after what, 2 weeks since the air layering makes for quicker turn around? Maybe not even since it is 1.25’ per plant, I could make that easy. I make 1x1’ plants in a space cabinet, on my second run.

I know yall said dial it in worry about this later but I am just gonna have to think this through at some point anyway.

First 8 plants can be a bean hunt which I ought to find and buy seeds that are known to make rediculous rosin yields and for all I know I could have almost none.

All plants to be in one gallon and see what size reservoir ends up being needed. I think 60 aint overkill for 8 plants one gallon for one week. With .5 gal per plant that is 4 gal a day, 28 a week but thats the thing, they only make 20 gal then go straight to 55 gal capacity.

Maybe I can hook up the 60 gal to feed both tents as I heard maxi bloom can carry a grow through veg too and have a 20 gal drain tub for both tents that I empty and wash frequently unless adding a bunch of pool shock to it with a wave maker can keep it as clean as the feed reservoir.

I got the pump so no shop vac needed so thats a relieve and can pump it right outside so no need to back forth to dump five gal a few times out the shop vac to empty.

Dialing in the grow would include finding out how to use most of solution before dumping out and refilling so I am throwing away just scraps of solution. I think I am working towards setting up like this.

It either will grow small and small yield which you want to veg as much as possible like 95% of the space but if it spears it will need to flip at 75% full canopy.

Mix matching I thought would end up with mich less yield than anticipated or too much yield which can mold which happened to me the last time before my last run.

Glad I get to say that! Made it to the finish line last time. But not so much before that. So the headache growers tried telling me about with current setup, I see it now.

So helping me on my thread “help me start my perpetual garden” advanced me like several months in forsight to avoid dissapointment. Got lots of work to do.

For 8 drainaway trays yall just buy 3 way pieces and threaded adapters to connect the pipe to the drain line, through the 3 way pieces? The 3 way piece ought to be a 3/4” pipe to a two way 1” drain line pipe?

I never understood how these were set up till now. It just popped in my head walking by the pvc section of store. Didnt understand and still dont, thats just my guess.

Edit I just saw a video assembling, easy peasy. I wondered if you use pvc glue like you typically would. It said use 1” drain line for more than 3 plants but the 3/4” is already about an inch OD so was confused.

Actually still have a question, do you slope the drain line in any way, the drain just goes into drain bucket?
