Setting up dtw coco 2.5x5 tent

Handling 40 gallons like it is nothing! Only stopping there since I wont need as much solution yet. 25 gallons lasted 3 days just about with 5 gallons left that I dumped.

Forgot to measure out 5 gallons and then a gallon at a time to see how much is needed to keep pumps submerged but I think it is 5-8 gallons just like before. Peobably a little less since it is not as shallow.
Over 8 gallons a day on 6 small plants? Is it like 200F in your room? Wtf?

I need to re so the setup but will just make it work for now. I had to re dial in the halos and it happens fast that solution gets pumped out but now that it is set it should last longer, we will see.

So it's not that the plants need that much you just don't have your timers set properly? When you're pushing out over 8 gallons, how much runoff is draining out? I use around a pint per plant per day in gallon pots.

Its fine the way it is, its the tray of 4 plants of 1 gallon and one 2 gallon that have halos that are too pinched as they are tighter circles than the 6” halos which are barely ok enough to use but tighter than 6”, it kinks.

I found myself that it is true, the hose to plants was kinked and the hole line quit working so it surely is the reason as someone said. Said to use 1/4” tubing if to make diy halos. I need to buy pots sized just for store bought halos or flora flex drip plate for better coverage. I got some mold growing on top surface of one pot.

So the tray of 4 plants need one 400gph pump and 800gph. No other configuration works. So dialing these in were the hardest. I run the 2 three gallon pots for 1 min 30 sec with runoff until it is dripping all the way around pot. The runoff is only running for like 20 seconds or less.

The tray of 4 plants run for 1 minute which is only 15 seconds over flow due to timer running in minutes. The other timer does run seconds which is used in a configuration to have minimal solution wasted. The 4 plants only have the 1 gallons running off more than needed to compensate the one 2 gallon on there.

Ugh if I have to explain all that, it aint right, I know. Heres where things get better, in 2 weeks I chop two plants and setup veg tent and separate/disperse the 4 plants so 3 remain to have their own tent and reservoir so the flower tent will run very decent. The remaining plants I need redo the halos unless 1 pump can handle all 3 plants which that 4th one will have its own 100gph pump and its own space.

Its going be pita for a bit until I figure that out and just redo the halos and set things up more evenly with same size pots and halos working properly.

I can figure it out. The flower tent has 400gph only because I couldnt find 200gph since you should do fine with 100gph per plant unless something is wrong like my setup. I have a few 100 gph pumps that I can configure the veg tent and space cabinet to have the pumps it needs until I replant beans in same size pots and properly working halos for under 6” circle diameter of a halo.

Need more pots that fit halos, mine require diy halos. I could just make them to get expirience making better halos but the mold on surface of coco has me wanting something even better and with my plant count it would be cheap.

The replacement plants arent aligned right for the next run to match the current run, I would need to reconfigure things. I have 2 one gallon reveg clones and a 2 gallon lemon bubble so I am not sure what next run will look like.

Maybe run the two clones and plant a new bean or clone in 2 gallon pot and then run those and then correct the perpetual flow with same size/age plants and pots the following runs.

Floraflex sells inexpensive halos for watering. I think theirs go down to like a 3" diameter.

I looked at those, it isnt 3” round it is 3” tall or something like that. There just aint no halos under 5.9” .

So yall think Id do way better just using 1 gallon pots, veg for 90 days and use 25 gal reservoir (20 gal full capacity) and one 60 gallon (55gallon capacity) as drain away for both reservoirs?

I feel like I am making everyone cringe and need to reset the setup.

I dont think vegging for 90 days in a one gallon pot is the best option regardless of the media.

I already know I have to but so far its just the halos screwing me on the smaller plants. I was trying to say when I setup veg and remove those plants that the flower tent will behave normal. The solution would last much much longer and just normal.

I just have feedback here saying its all overkill and to use smaller pots which I never done before but see most coco growers use like 1 gallon. I just want 8 oz a plant minimally in a wide open space so colas can breathe and not mold or have rh issues. What ever gets me 16oz, willing to change it all up. I thought I had it figured out but getting a little bit of back lash.

Day 1 the reservoir is still clear and smells sterile and the room dont have any funk smell. Topped the left plant and spreading out branches. No more room in left corner, not care about reveg clones as they are revegging but two plants need their space asap.

About to spray h2o2 solution to coco surface to kill the little bit of mold forming. Pointing a fan down there.

Until you get things dialed in, I would set 2 goals.

1. Get system dialed in and working how it should and how you would like it to.
2. Have a successful harvest all the way through dry and cure.

Anything above that and you are going to stress yourself to the gills. Get the numbers out of your head and just grow healthy plants. Once it gets dialed in, then start pushing for your weight goals.

I went thru the same shit when I first started. Bought more than I needed, and bigger. You'll get it sorted out, as you dial in your setup, and watch plant responses.

do you have a plant count to worry about?

so you want 2 half pound plants? how about 4 quarter pound plants? or 8 2oz plants?
I can do 12 but liked the idea of less. I felt 3 gallons could make two big plants easily 8oz each but open to ideas. Was suggested and going to follow air layering clones. Perpetuate.

The beauty of hydro is that you don't need a big pot to grow a big plant.
Recently I've been using coco in 1.5 gal pots and a 30-35 day veg time.
2 plants fill a 4x2
I could care less about numbers, but routinely jar up well over a lb. per run.
Basically identical results to what I got using 3 gal pots; only difference being more frequent irrigation cycles.

Ok I have a 2x4 and 2.5x5. Was going to keep eye out for strains I want to keep and work with for a while so I can have predictable results. Air layer a mother and make 2 two gallons or 4 one to two gallon pots. Chop and flip after 60 days and grow back the mother from 50% back to 100 and repeat.

I would need to spend a chunck to setup for 10-12 plants but am open to all suggestions. So working with two plants a tent is likely the next move for a while. Veg what for 30 days, a clone or seed? I know people flip photos early but I read it can cause unwanted issues.
