how much better are your yields wen lollipopping?? well i mean im sure u dont have an exact amount. lol. but i mean do you notice a difference? sumtimes ill keep the smaller branches attatched... but strip all the lower buds on the lower branches... leaving just the top buds.. but they dont usually amount to much.. im startin to think i should just chop off the whole branch from now on.. and let it focus on the bigger buds.

Depends, if stuff is already dying back (light green leaves, airy buds, ect) I just remove it. Sometimes it's only 12 inches of my plants this last time it was 24". Just depends on how tall they get/how far your light will penetrate. It certainly saves time from trimming that popcorn and doesn't seem to ever hurt yields so. Its a must with scrog, other techniques not as much but it can still benefit you.

Way easier not messing with that popcorn crap. Wish there was a way to know for sure how yield was affected though.

i was lookin it uyp yesterday. and "in theory" its supposed to actually increase your yield. the plant spends less time/energy on those smaller buds that dry out to .0009999999 grams. lol. and spend more time fattening up the bigger buds.. i sort of did sumthin like this with my full moon.. i harvested the bottom of the plant and left the top.. the top probably weughed about 4 or 5 grams dry at the moment (thats just a guess). and i let just the top bud (about5-6 inches) grow out for a few more weeks... the wet weight was 64. sumthin.. and the dry weight ended up being 14.6 or 14.8... i forget. sumwhere around there.. but i thnk that it got so fat because the plant only had to worry about that 1 bud.

Yeah, I know the reasoning behind it. I just haven't really ever seen a conclusive comparison I guess. Like someone should do a side by side yield test under same light. Say like 10 plants under 2 1000 watters and see if the yield is any better/worse. I mean, I hate popcorn bud trimming as much as the next guy, but if I'm losing a lot of weight by lollipopping I'm gonna re-evaluate what I'm doing.

Its also very strain dependent. Afgan kush made rocks all the way to the bottom, they didn't always muture 100% but density was fine, so I loli'd them less. The PE on the other hand needs a ton of light for good buds, she gets loli'd more aggressively. So part of it is just knowing what your genetics can and can't do. But eventually you get an eye for seeing the stuff that is just going to be fluff. Not always ez cutting it out at 2-3 weeks when it's covered with bud sites, but the small crap must go. For me popcorn just ends up in the trim pile, so reguardless if I'm losing weight it's not sellable product anyways.

Plants have been cloned and moved in. Fwew workin all day to clean up this shit... changed out rezs, scrubbed trays, installed a new magnum xxxl 6, and made an addition to my screen to hold the wall out better. As it stands now screen is 34" from the glass of the magnums with the 1k horti's. I noticed my new aluminum is much more shinny then the 2 year old one. Any way to polish that back up to a like new shine? Aluminum polish?

No 1 on reflector advice damn? where'd all the homies go? Lol RIU screwed the pooch on this one. Anyways I'll have the pic update soon, Sun @ the latest. My camera was stolen again, damnit. Gavita claims that reflectors degrade by about 10% every year. The aluminum degrades due to the heat
and photons hitting it. Also if sulphur is used it makes it worse, dust as well. There are micro pores and
it seems that wiping the aluminum is unable to get some of these particles out and over time they build
up more and more. They sell replacement aluminum inserts for their reflectors. When you change your bulb
you change your reflector.

Thanks shrubs. I knew someone around here would have solid info. It's about 2 years old now, maybe stretch it one more year but 70% loss sounds like replacement time. Damn kinda makes keeping magnum hoods more cost prohibitive. 450 to replace em both. O well they work well, necessary expense!

Buddy took out my other bubbler and chipped in some dough cuz he felt bad for fuckin my glass up. Here's what I picked up to replace it. Triple bub, sick fuming, a giant 1g bowl and a medallion on the side for art / balance of the piece. Also got a Herb Iron for my birthday. Love it! Tastes just like solar hits without the sun. Highly recommended. See you on the other side (Flowering pics tonight, camera is finally back, tune in)
