But, you know, I'm heading to Denver this weekend, let's see what I can find there. I've got your recommendation, let's see what the shops have.

:peace:
Your welcome to my SH nutes I got in my kit. I wont use dry nutes. Not that they are not good or won't work. I just like liquid nutes personally it makes me feel better.

Well today was a big day. Time to change the res. and since I was at it I decided to get rid of the water pump, manifold and lines. It was a bit scary this being the first time. It was a bit of a problem getting the lid off the bucket, the roots had tangled below the air line and I had to cut it to get the lid off. So I took off the lid and set it straddling two 5 gallon buckets. The roots were touching the concrete floor of my garage!

I got the manifold out with a bit of trouble, I took the pump off and could then thread the manifold with the tubes out of the roots. Not as bad as I thought.

I then fimmed as much as I could. There are a million branches so I figured I catch as many as I could. Not that many really, I probably did about 15 tops. We'll see just how close I came to doing an actual fim job, hopefully it wasn't just a massacre!

I refilled the res. with 1/2 strength nutes, I don't want to shock them again right after working so much with them. I'll put the rest in tomorrow after I see how they did tonight.

But I think they'll be fine. the sour diesel in the back middle was hanging down like it was really being stressed, but within 10 minutes of being put back in the water it perked up again.

Prior to putting the lid back on I trimmed the bottom couple inches of the roots with a pair of scissors. Part of these roots were sitting on the cold concrete of my garage floor the entire time I was working on the plants. I figured with the cold and probable dirt they were in contact with the best I could do was trim them off and just get rid of them.

So, I'll see just how good I did today, hopefully nothing will crop up while I'm in Denver this weekend.

And now it's time to see just how good this G-13 is that I just picked up from the dispensary on the way home earlier today. So far so good!

Hey ol hippy, funny, that's what my girlfriend calls me!

I'll write a little more in a bit after I've looked in on my plants and watered them. But first thing this morning they looked great, another bunch of growth and they don't seem to be feeling any ill effects from either the and water line and pump removal, the root trimming or the fimming. I just hope I did the fimming right and will get the additional tops I'm hoping for. But I did notice that one of the plants has a secondary branch that's getting taller than the main!

I'm just about to start flowering. I put them in 10/31 so I'm now on day 26 of veg. I'm planning to start flowering next Tuesday, 12/1.

No real snow where I live, I'm in what we call the banana belt around here, I'm about 10 miles from the nearest ski area and I'm at the bottom of the valley. They're getting some pretty good snow up high. Aspen has been getting hit pretty good for the last week or so which is good for the World Cup races this weekend. But we are a bit behind on the snow, thank goodness for snow making! I'm not a skier anymore, got my knee replaced 5 years ago. But I snowshoe with my pups a lot. I love it up here in the winter! When the snow is falling and you're alone with your dogs way back up in the hills, well you can't get any farther away from it all. The quiet is magical! I love this place!

Well, time to get moving. Get the dogs for their walk, then attend to the plants, set up some gallon water jugs with nutes so my neighbor can simply add them every day for me, I designed an auto watering system for them last night when I was in bed, hopefully I can augment that plan before Christmas.

Then it's finish packing and head to Denver. I'm really looking forward to seeing the kids and that big turkey I'll be roasting tomorrow!

More in a bit.

FryingPanFlyer,

Why don't you give us a little detail on your plans for an "auto watering system" as many of us need to get ready for the Holidays.

Well I checked on my girls this morning right before the lights went off and topped off the res to about 1/2" below the pots. I am leaving this afternoon to spend the holiday/weekend at my parents and I will be gone until Monday morning and I sure hope they have enough water to last until then. Thanks for asking! I put new pics up yesterday if you haven't seen them. Can't wait to see the pics of your plants after their manicure LOL.

Okay, here's the pics. Everything is doing great! they are now 17" tall for the most part, but even the little one is only a couple inches shorter.

They seem to be opening up. A couple days ago you couldn't see the top of the res, now I see there is light going all the way down to the bottom of the plants. When I was working on them yesterday the sour diesel in the rear middle was really starting to droop, but within 15 minutes of refilling the res, it was standing tall again. The SD in the front left is the one with the secondary branch taller than the primary.

So, in the next few days we'll see how my fim job went. I'm not sure if I cut where I needed, some were so tight I'm not sure I got down far enough. I guess that depends upon that particular branches maturity.

I've got my water jugs filled and ready for my neighbor's help. the plants are using more than 1 gallon a day now. The nute concentration will be a little low when I get back, but I figure it's best, he won't be watching them as closely as I would.

I'll be back Monday and ready to start 12/12. Hey, anyone got a good source for timers, I will be running the 400w HPS so do I need to look for a special higher capacity timer (I don't know what it is, more amps or whatever) or can I use the timer I user for my outdoor christmas lights?

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Lt, hope you left enough water, glad to hear you'll be with family. Don't eat too much and watch out for the drinking and driving everyone, I got my DUI 20 years ago, you don't want to go through what I did. Be smart, let someone else drive. I want to see all of your shining faces here next week!

I'll check in over the weekend.

You bet, I'll put out some details as to what I'm planning to do. I'll do a couple sketches (I'm pretty good at those, I draw for a living) and explain what I'm thinking. It's really just using a kit they have at SH, but this will be how I plan to implement it. It's simple, always remember Occam's Razor, and should be pretty fool proof. I have to keep it simple, when you're not that smart you really have to watch it! But I do manage.

Dog, you have a great weekend too! Hope you're where you want to be for the weekend.

Love and Peace to all!

Everything looks great Fry! I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure that any regular timer will work because they are all rated for the same output from the electrical outlets. I am also using a 400w but my timer came with the light so I don't know. My tallest girl also has a secondary branch that is taller than the main stalk but that's because I burned the top. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Be safe. See you Monday!

Check the back of the timer, I was suprised to find my regular timer was rate 1800 watts. So were my power strips.

I thought I would need to buy new ones also.

Wow, I just got a text from my buddy watching my girls this weekend, he syas they grew 3" yesterday! I wonder if he's just measuring to the absolute tallest tip of the tallest leaf, where as I'm just trying to be fairly conservative in my measurements. But no matter, this is still pretty amazing.

So, to recap. Tuesday I did the big water line and pump removal, cut the bottom 2" off the roots of all the plants, fimmed a bunch of leaves, and did a res. change, added half the nutes. Wednesday I added the rest of the nutes and noticed they had drank a gallon and a half. Then today I get the message that they drank 2 gallons and grew 3". I'd say they are doing justr fine. At this reat I wonder how big they'll be when I Sunday. This is a trip.

Gotta, the timer for the turkey is goiung off!

I've been using the SH nutes that came with the kit, nothing special. These people that say they suck are doing something different than I am. SH could use me for an advertisement! I should give them a call, I could use a break on the price!

I'm beginning to question my decision to buy other nutes for flowering, but I'm not going to change the veg nutes, I don't need any more proof.

But time to kick back tonight. I roasted a great turkey, my girlfriend doesn't cook so I'll take the credit for today, but she did a great job of cleaning up! I'm gong to smoke a bowl and enjoy the evening. To top it off the Bronco's are winning!

Everyone have a great night, I love you all. Spend a minute thinking of everything you have to be thankful for tonight and try to live it all year long. Be good!
