Bib P, I have watched a lot of her past speeches as Governor and I have also looked at her past debates. It's an act, just like her cutesy winking at the cameras.

What she gains in her mannerisms, she lacks in substance.

I'm not as uninformed as you may think...

I haven't been on here much because I have been working.... I just walked into a 45K+ a year job.

congrads on the new job man,

but its not an act and I can prove it, ill get you the video of her before she was running for vice just chillin at her house with a camera on:bigjoint:

How to Win a Debate

This article needs to be converted to wikiHow format as specified by the Writer's Guide.
You can help by editing it now and then removing this notice. Notice added on 2008-05-15.Once you ever start debating, especially in real contests, you will want to win them. Here's how to do it.

[edit] Steps

 1. As a proposition the way to victory is quite clear: convince the jury that your plan(motion) is to go the way.
 2. As an opposition there are three ways to win a debate: 1. Prove that the problem solved by the motion does not exist. 2. Prove that the motion proposed does not solve the problem. 3. Prove that the motion is not the appropriate way to solve the problem and/or that the plan proposed brings more negative consequences than benefits.
 3. PoI’s:A point of information can only be offered during the unprotected time (after the first and before the third minute of a speech). Maximum time: 15 seconds. Besides the fact that a PoI needs to be a question it can be used for almost any purpose. For example: clarification, disrupting someone’s speech, pointing out weaknesses or to get an answer which can be used to your own advantage.
 4. “After the second speaker on the proposition side has accepted my PoI he even admitted that *blablabla*”
 5. To offer a PoI stand up holding one hand on top of your head and one hand in the air. As a speaker you can either deny or accept a point of information. During a speech of 4 minutes you should accept at least 1 PoI and never more than 2 PoI’s. Also never accept a PoI before you’ve finished your own argument !

[edit] Tips

 • Special note for 3rd speakers: Bring something new to the debate! Although you are not allowed to bring in new arguments you are allowed to defend or attack any argument from a new perspective!
 • Say what you’re gonna say, say it and say what you’ve just said:
 • SEI: State your argument – Explain your argument – Illustrate your argument
 • Label your arguments using S.P.E.R.M.! (social, political, economic, religious, moral)in case you wondered where the abbreviations come from: debaters tend to have dirty minds

I had to stop watching. I just could not watch her any longer. The charade was too much. The sound, though, was still on in the background. “John McCain knows how to win a war.” She said that. Please, somebody please (I have asked this before), please ask “How does John McCain know how to win a war? What war has John McCain ever won?”

Ask pro war people this question. What does winning in Iraq mean? The goal posts start moving quick.

"Say it aint so Joe, there you go pointing backwards again":bigjoint:

stop pointing backwards guys this is an election about our future:bigjoint:

.
It's all about context here. Sure looking forward is great, but what were they talking about when "looking backwards"? Bush's voting record, which matches McCains by over 90%. Sometimes you have to learn from the past to avoid repeating mistakes. John McCain is a repeat mistake.

this falls into the either you get it or you don't category. It's like those 3-D eye posters. No matter how hard some people try, they just can't see it and its so frustrating to the rest of us in the mall who can see the UFO from across the food cart. Just un-focus your eyes for christ sakes!

im hoping and praying that the women of america will now be with palin after last night.

ive gotten hearsay indications that this is a good possibility, and by looking at the polls. we must have this in order to win since obama is up in the polls right now

I think the women of america are gonna shock the Obamacrats

lets keep our fingers crossed.

Ive only been disapointed once in an election and thats when G W Bush beat Al gore for pres.

But i later realized that I had been rooting for the wrong guy, glad bush was there to kill people that needed to die, i dont think he was a perfect pres, but im glad he has a good healthy killer instinct,

i dont know where you guys live, but where im from weakness = death, domination, exploitation and destruction

and bush was a real "killer" of a pres:bigjoint: right when a bunch of bitches showed up asking to be spattered

If you think a well rehearsed and coached delivery of a very few sound bites devoid of any true intellectual involvement is the "real deal" then she is your candidate. As a thinking man my interpretation would be she offered very little in the way of qualitative or detailed answers. She used the most basic vernacular in an attempt to make sure we all realize she is just one of us...but I wouldn't vote for "joe six-pack american" for any public office let alone the 2nd highest office in the land. Just because any fool CAN be elected does not mean any fool SHOULD be elected. After 1 1/2 hours of evading answering most of the questions asked of her and thouroughly wearing out her line about being a "Maverick" Biden handily served her ass up about that maverick BS to which she was incapable of delivering a real response. Look, if you are looking for reasons to validate your choice of voting republican then her not crashing and burning is probably enough for you to claim her mediocre performance as a victory, and for her it truly was. As for myself I don't like being pandered to with winks and retarded catch-phrases, I see her for what she is and she will not get my vote.
I was going to make a long comment, but you put it so succinctly, I'll just rep you and say I agree. Exactly, she avoided all reason.

Libbies unite! You guys are lame.:lol: For those that said she wasn't authentic, you should really get to know your mom. Dig around in that closet. See what you can find. You'll be amazed. She was a stinkin lib, after all. Wasn't she?:oops: "Mom? Mooooom!":cry::cry:

Palin is AWESOME! Smart as hell, a natural leader, pretty.....everything liberal women aren't. No wonder the animus. Find another spouse if your dejected.

You do realize you should be voting for Obama then right? You see, the terrorists that attacked us, including the mastermind Osama Bin Laden, were never in Iraq. They weren't funded by Iraq, they weren't trained in Iraq, they are not Iraqi people. We went to Iraq for oil, so unless you mean people needed to die so we could drive SUV's, you have it wrong. Currently there is a few people pushing for military aid in Afghanistan, where Bin laden was known to be hiding. One man has done so from the beginning. That man was Barak Obama.

The issue from the Thursday night debate ultimately is not about Palin but about McCain's judgment in selecting someone with so little qualification for national office.
